Sorry for being a noob, but how did you find your student host? I have an interview on 11/18 and I was thinking of flying in the day before.

Sorry for being a noob, but how did you find your student host? I have an interview on 11/18 and I was thinking of flying in the day before.
Your interview email has a link in it. Click on the one for "Optional Housing" or something like that and you'll find the form to fill out.
I would do it ASAP

So no one has received IIs lately??? Do you think they're done giving out IIs?

I was wondering the same, if anyone has received an II recently? I called them last week and they said my application hadn't been reviewed by anyone yet (I was complete mid Sept.) and that they're still sending II's.
when I call or send emails to Tech, they always tell me it's under review, even if it's been months since I transmitted. I think they'll always say that until our applications are released at the end of the app season

From last years thread....people got acceptances around 9:50 and 1:50.

how long does the prematch offers today last? I had an interview in august with them and have yet to hear anything...

so my email looks like this:
"Dear [name here],
We have some exciting news to share with you at:
"there is a link here to a video."
In a few days, you will receive another email with additional information."
Also, your status on merlin changes. You have got till 11/29 to accept or decline

Again I haven't watched it cuz im in lab meeting... but somebody above said something about it being personalized?
Maybe they ran out of time to make more personalized videos? I interviewed waaayy back in like August or something, maybe thats why?
Whatever man, the important thing is getting in and being able to study medicine in the fall.

I am in class now, so I will have to watch it again later.Also, I have a question. When we accept the offer and pay the $$$ on Merlin, we are just saving the pre-match seat right? We are not committing to the attend the school? I want to see how all the cards play out. Thanks.

You are in state right? the "sooner" is throwing me off.
But assuming you are, yes you are not committing to attend the school. All a pre-match means is that they are holding a guaranteed seat for you. You can get other pre-match offers or you can rank other Tx schools you have interviewed at higher on the match if you want a shot at them.
ACCEPTED at 2 PM! OMG today has been the crappiest day so far until just now when I checked my email. Texas Tech is always going to have a special place in my heart now!

P.S. I was born and raised in Texas, but went to OU for my undergrad.
Very surprised I got a pre-match. One of my interviewers literally got me to contradict everything I said. I also told him I wouldn't tell a patient's family if I accidentally killed them in surgery. lol

So in order to accept the offer of admission on Merlin one must first pay the "Placement Guarantee Fee" for $100. This fee is refundable right?
Yes.
So after 11/29 the only way for your spot to be saved (without accepting their offer, yet) is by paying $100, right? Where is this payment option available?

ugh I still don't now if accepting their offer and paying $100 means automatic matriculation at this school...
It doesn't. I actually work in a lab at TTUHSC and physically went to the admissions department to ask them this. It's not a commitment, and is refundable if you do not matriculate.

To anyone: If we receive a scholarship of any amount (remembered students saying most of them receive one of some amount), are those listed in the email that is supposed to come in the next few days?
After you interview at tech does your status on merlin say "invited for interview" or has it changed to "interviewed"?
I interviewed 10/14. It still says invited for interviews in merlin, but I am able to rank them in TMDSAS, so the school must have updated me as interviewed, but I guess there site doesn't change your status.
Will be withdrawing. Best of luck to all of you! Texas Tech is a wonderful place!
