I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the interview day packets said that acceptances would be sent via snail mail and rejections/"acceptance range" notices via email. I don't have the packet with me right now, but does anyone else remember this? If so, I would assume there won't be anyone hearing of acceptances for another couple days at least...
I just reread my packet and you are right I guess we wont be hearing today.
previous years received e-mail notification, I think they were referring to the physical packet with all of the information/forms etc..
that's just mean!
I called they only mail letters some already went out and some are going out tomorrow she said

really. Was hoping to get an email from somebody today, but it looks like they're all doing snail mail. In this case, guess I wouldn't want an email.

oh crap, in that case I probably won't hear for a while... my area is NOTORIOUS for "losing" mail. I swear that's where my penn state letter of doom must have gone. damn you, usps...I seriously worried about snail mailed apps and even my thank you notes. I sent them out with delivery confirmations...(drew the line at the thank you notes though)
likewise. Hoping stuff gets sent to my "preferred address" and not my "permanent address" as well. My permanent address does not get mail; the mailbox got shot and knocked over too many times, we took it down.
Alright guys, here's the story.
I just called them to see when they were gonna send the decisions, and this is what happened.
I called admissions, and the lady tells me that the system had a glitch and is crashed at the moment. She says that they will be sending the decisions notifications (acceptance, waitlist, rejection) via email and have sent out acceptance letter packets via snail mail today.
She proceeds to check my status, and now my heart is pounding like crazy. It takes her a while, so I'm assuming, "OMG, is it bad news? is that why she isn't telling me?"
She gets on the phone again, tells me that b/c of the crash, she can't access the database to check our status. Almost gave me a heart attack there.
Now we have to wait til tomorrow for a decision unless something happens today

they have computer problems at the worst times. same thing happened when I tried to call and reschedule my interview. oh, technology!

My application was time-stamped over 3 weeks now and still have not heard yet. How much longer do i have to wait to get decision/update?
My application was time-stamped on 9/2, and I just got the complete email today. Just as an FYI. . .

I submitted my secondary approx. 1 month ago. I haven't gotten an email or any confirmation from the school. Is this normal? Also, is there a way to check the status of your application? Thanks friends!

Congrats!
First acceptance! 2nd application cycle! I feel sooooooooo unburdened. Now I just hope they give me some fat stacks or I get into a less expensive school... because with the way this country is heading, being a doctor is not going to as profitable as it used to be... which isn't bad, as long as doctors aren't reduced to middle-managing government employees... but that still leaves a lot of debt!

I have an interview invite and I like New Orleans and Tulane but I'm worried about how crazy expensive tuition is.
Have y'all taken that into account and would you attend Tulane over your state school if accepted to both?

IMHO, you should attend either the cheapest school or the most prestigious school.
If you want to be self-employed, study on your own through independent programs, and just practice real medicine for real $$, then go to the cheapest school - the MD degree is just a scam, like all "degrees" - its a hurdle and a piece of paper that is totally meaningless. However, I'm told that prestigious residencies don't even look at your file unless you come from a "good" school.
If you want to do research or academic medicine or if you want to climb the admin ladder and never see another disease-ridden patient or if you really want a really fancy residency, then go for the fanciest school. Ignore the cost - its fiat money that will soon be inflating at double digit rates anyway.

Your money is just coupons backed by the assets of the central bank, which, as you might know, are Treasury debt and other junk from bankrupt corporations, which themselves are debt instruments to be repayed in Federal reserve notes, which are backed by junk assets which are denominated in federal reserve notes, which are backed by junk assets denominated in... you get the picture. Without a commodity-currency, based on collective, free-market valuation of the commodity (gold, silver, tobacco, whatever), our entire financial structure is totally corrupt and will eventually collapse, because it is based on fiat - the threat of violence from our crumbling empire/nation state.
