Anyone know when the last round of acceptances went out?
 
He did that the first time he made calls this year. I got that from an earlier post in this thread.
 
guys, what if people were accepted but none of us were them? 8(
 
I was accepted yesterday! I was on a plane all day yesterday, so I never got the phone call. In fact, I am going to have trouble checking my messages as I will be out of the country all week. However, I checked my Vanderbilt status page just now and saw an option to accept the offer of admission!!!
 
Also accepted yesterday! Phone call after 9pm with a merry voice mail attached. Interviewed 11/4.
 
Damn. Still nothing. I'm wondering if I should call. It's almost been 13 weeks since my interview.
 
Someone who has been waiting that long should call and at least find out if any acceptances went out lately!

It seems like some acceptances were given out last night. I'll wait a few days and see if I get anything in the mail before I call.
 
Has anyone experienced issues with letters of recommendations? On the Application Status page, I have had a red X beside my undergrad school name ever since I completed the secondary even though the letters were sent way before I received an invitation to complete the secondary. I have called and email Ms. Huddleston 3 times with no luck in getting any response. Could this be a reason why it's been over 8 weeks?

Oh wow congrats!!! I interviewed 11/3. I'm outside the US right now and I'm aching to find a phone card to call my voicemail. I can't remember how to log into the status page. But congrats yo!
 
What's the link to the application status page?
 
Finally called my voicemail from Nigeria, i got accepted last night too. Nice long voicemail. No word on scholarships though. Good luck y'all

I might be misreading what you're saying, but it says on the Status page that they won't process your recommendation letters until the Friday before your interview (because of the time it takes to do it). After that Friday, if you don't see that red X change, then hopefully they'd be more receptive.
 
Yea, that's what I was thinking too, but it's been 8 weeks and the X is still there. I just emailed Dr. Sagen earlier today, so hopefully I'll have some luck with her.
 
For what it's worth, I emailed Ms. Sagen about that X still being there a week after my interview, and I didn't get a response until 4 weeks later. But by that time my recs had been marked as complete...
 
So for those of you who checked the acceptance via the status page, did you see the button to accept the offer on the "Check application status" page?
 
I see many people who haven't heard back from them for more than 8 weeks. Why don't you guys make the calls to the admissions office to find out where you stand? I'm planning on calling them at the end of this week, but was wondering if this would have negative effect on my application.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I am going to wait until Thursday to call. If they sent out a wait list or rejection letter today, I would probably get it by then. It would be kind of awkward if they had to tell me I was rejected on the phone.

I'm not sure that everyone in limbo hasn't actually heard. For example, I interviewed Sep 6, and received an email telling me I'm under continued consideration. I have no idea where I really stand, but I can't say I haven't heard from them since my interview.

Me too. I'm also thinking about calling at the end of the week since I've been waiting since August with just that email, but don't want it to negatively affect my app...
 
For those who got accepted last Sunday, did you all interview in early to mid November? My speculation is that Vanderbilt this year accepts best students in their applicant pool only after 4~6 weeks after individual interview dates, and then puts everyone else on the 'continue to be reviewed' pile. I think that once they fill their seats with those better applicants, they will pick the best among the rest to fill the remaining seats. I'm just throwing it out there, but seeing people not hearing back for more than 10 weeks suggests that this might be true.

From looking at last year's forum, it seems that the mid December admission is for people who interviewed late october to early november. I think the next time they admit should be in mid-late janurary, and in that cycle should be people who interviewed from mid november to december.

This is just speculation, I'm not sure, but it just looks like this from last years forums. Did anybody who got admitted interview later than november 14th?
 
Hey guys, I have another quick question regarding updates. What do y'all think of sending in this semesters grades as an update, like an updated transcript for those of us who are post interview? Is there a point, does it even get looked at?

my pre-med advisor says some schools don't even look if you send them an update, pre or post interview. They have to put it in your file, but they don't have to look at it. It's really up to you, unless they say they don't want updates. If you really want to go there, I'd do it, just so you can say you did everything.

Beware of advisors. Most have no idea what they are talking about. Some schools (like Georgetown) pretty much won't accept you without one. Others might care less, but the "some schools" referred to above might only be like 5.

I remember at my interview day that they said they enjoyed receiving update letters from applicants. I plan on sending in my fall semester grades as soon as I receive them.

sweet! I think i will too then. If you don't mind me asking, how do you plan on sending your grades? In a letter, or order a transcript and send it, or get scan/email the transcript?

I was thinking of just listing my grades in a letter and hopefully they'll just believe me. It's just the quickest way.
