Does anyone know for sure that American Lake VA doesn't contact applicants and instead just ranks everyone that applied there?

This sounds like the same issue we are having with WVU Health Sciences-Charleston.

Also, Im gonna ask again, cause it got burried quickly...Did anyone apply to University of Kansas Medical Center?

I know they specifically invited applicants still under consideration last year as two students from my program went. I bet we will hear from them by the end of the day.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from the southwest consortium in new Mexico?

Somebody mentioned that they are waiting on Aurora CMH, and I am too. As far as I know, no one has heard yet...

Other than that, I'm still waiting on 4 additional sites! Brooklyn VA said they won't notify until 12/22 (though some rejections may come earlier)... and Hudson Valley VA is technically not notifying until 12/31, but I know people have gotten interviews which makes me feel like 1- I'm getting a rejection, and 2- they really should be notifying today.

Also waiting on Sharp and St. Lukes (adult)... I know both of those have sent invites as well, but if they are done offering I'd really just appreciate the notification.

In rejection news (now my 12th--I kid you not--rejection in a ROW) I finally got the rejection I was expecting from New Jersey VA.

I cannot believe how slow the last 2 days have been given today is the deadline. Please, just make this process officially END!

I know someone who received an interview invite from them by phone. Last week, I believe.

Yes, in Kansas City.

BTW, I dont know why they dont have a strong neuropsych track at the KC one. Sally Frutiger is the head neuropsychologist there and she is AMAZING!
 
Hmmmm. Looking at the number of sites people have yet to hear from (at least for sites with due dates on or before today), I say next year APPIC makes some changes. For every late notification...either we get a chunk of the $300 we pay for APPIC back, or we get refunded for that site's application cost. I mean if we submit our app's late, odds are we're screwed. But if they notify us late, they're still in the driver's seat and we're just waiting even longer. :laugh:
 
Just received a rejection email from SUNY Upstate. That was the last site I was waiting on... sucks, but expected. At least now the flight booking can begin!

Here's hoping everyone else hears from the last few sites today as well. Good luck guys!

Yeah, I have heard that. Weird. I didn't apply there as a result. I am super-psyched about Wichita though.
 
wow, my final three sites were all invites! generic invite emails from Houston and Memphis VAs. Received a call from the VA in Honolulu, Hawaii. 13 interviews, 15 tracks...wow. i feel lucky. good luck everyone!

Wow!! Great last day, and great overall haul for you. That's amazing, congrats! Hope you can get a little rest in over the holidays, you're gonna be quite the traveler.
 
I was so looking forward to ending my email checking compulsion today... but apparently I have to keep it up for TWO MORE DAYS as the notification deadline for Miami Children's isn't until 12/17. I just checked their website. I feel for everyone waiting past the deadline! This isn't fun.

In other news, received a rejection to the UF Neuro track a little while ago 🙁

wow, congrats! I am waiting on Houston and Memphis, so I have a feeling those will be rejections now! Oh well - I have gotten 8 interviews thus far, so I guess I can't complain! It just would have been nice to get a few more 🙂
 
Just got an invite from Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services via telephone! Interview scheduled individually for 12/28.

Very excited! :zip:
 
(Mass) e-mail rejection came in this morning.

It was high on my list, so that sucks, but feeling optimistic and grateful. 🙂

Two more sites, baby. Come on, Woodhull Med and Southern AZ Consortium!

Ya, it looked pretty standard so maybe you have a shot! When those joke Q&As went around I laughed at the one about sites misrepresenting themselves in their brochures b/c that was def true of Hudson, at least the site I applied for

Hopefully this advice will be unnecessary, but if for any reason you do have to do this all again, I would recommend you just write from the heart, and if having your stuff critiqued makes it harder than don't have that many people review it. Last yr I had my mom and a friend read mine (and I did get interviews, just not placed). This year just my mom. I don't need 3 diff supervisors/faculty telling me what THEY think it should say/sound like - they aren't the ones sites are going to selecting!

If it's after their notification day, call them. That it totally allowed and encouraged (you never know, your invite may have gotten lost in the mail!).

Dude, I HOPE your track is still in the running! To spend that time/money/stress to interview and have the site not be an option would SUCK. :xf:

Just FYI, I am also waiting to hear back from them. They said that after you submit a request, the training committee reviews your app to see if you're a good fit (so you don't waste time/money going down if they wouldn't rank you). Fingers crossed!

Remember: rolling invites! It could still be coming, esp if they have that much time b4 their deadline!

Make that more like $500-$600! And, right?! They should be held accountable just as we are. I feel like a lot of sites are going to be notifying late, but they should at least be sending out e-mails to that effect so we aren't just sitting here wondering.

Has anyone received a rejection from St. Luke's? I know some people have received phone calls, but can they really be calling everyone they interview? Last year they interviewed 133 people! I applied for the child track.
 
Has anyone heard from the Sierra Nevada or Durham VA's?
 
Got invites today from Terry Children's Psychiatric Center and Southeast Human Service Center. Super excited because I had pretty much given up hope 😀
 
Still waiting to hear from Trenton Psychiatric Hosp, Princeton House Beh Health, and Citrus Health Network. :xf:

Wow! Congrats! I'm still waiting to hear anything from the Honolulu VA and am freaking out. It's my top site. Do you mind me asking where your name is in the alphabet? Lol. I'm almost at the end... Thanks! 🙂

My friend just got an invite from Honolulu (phone call) and her last name starts with a B. Hang in there... I bet your good news is coming! :luck:
 
When is it OK to start calling the people we have not heard from?😀

I think it's reasonable to e-mail them the morning after their stated due date.

While 5PM today may technically be the deadline, some may be scrambling late through the evening. (I got an interview offer via e-mail last night at 10PM.)

So, tomorrow morning seems an appropriate time.

I would like to email them at midnight tonight, although in last year's forum invites were going out almost until midnight I think

thanks, markro! i was sick for the first two interviews, so hoping i'm good and healthy for the rest. i think this thread should start transforming to one about self-care and how to enjoy/survive all of the traveling 🙂

don't give up yet! some sites have generic emails that aren't sent out in bulk. 8 interviews is great, though! are any of them at VAs? i definitely prepared myself for rejections today, but you never know.

I'm still waiting on them too. Seems like they sent out a 2nd wave of lots of rejections and invitations not too long ago. Kinda makes me wonder if they forgot about me/got the wrong email...I'm waiting on them and Central Texas VA....
