Also got an interview offer at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial 🙂 Very pleasantly surprised by this one! I applied to the adult neuropsych track, and I was asked to call on Wednesday to schedule an interview time/date.

Yeah for you! It is about time that they sent out interviews. I haven't heard so I guess I didn't get one. I am ok with that though.

I have a feeling they will send out rejections if they aren't interested. Who knows, though. I don't think things make as much sense as I would like them to.

Just received a call from Henry Ford HSC in Detroit for the peds neuropsych track as well, available dates are 1/5, 1/11, 1/13, and 1/18.

I got a rejection today from UCSD/VA, which just confirms what I expected.
Unexpectedly, I got an interview from Mass General, Adult Track around 1 ET. My partner received her interview over two weeks ago in the child track so I'm guessing they do rolling interviews. Hope good news comes out to those of you still waiting for MGH.

I got a rejection today from UCSD/VA, which just confirms what I expected.
Unexpectedly, I got an interview from Mass General, Adult Track around 1 ET. My partner received her interview over two weeks ago in the child track so I'm guessing they do rolling interviews. Hope good news comes out to those of you still waiting for MGH.

Mine told me to call Weds morning lol... I applied for the Ped NP track... they have 9 tracks, don't they?

Yeah. They have 9 rotations and I applied to 4 in this rank order:

Child Clinical
Peds NP
Peds BM
Health/Medical

Maybe I got scheduled on Monday b/c I'm being called back for the Child Clinical track? It looks like some of you guys that have later dates applied to the Adult and Peds NP tracks.

Anyone else have another theory as to why the dates are different? I'm assuming the dates were assigned based on what track you're being called back to interview for.

Idk about UCLA, but last year VA Long Beach sent out email invites and rejections ON their notification date... which for this year, if they do this again, would mean Friday.

Thats 3 rejections of 8 total sites applied to. Haven't heard from the rest. Kind of driving me nuts. Any school people out there who feel my pain?🙁

though I haven't gotten a rejection, this staggering concept has already caused one conflict for me as far as interview dates. I'm contemplating whether to try to reschedule one interview but it's at a top choice so I dont know🙁

Just got another Boston area call from a site that must also do rolling interviews. A peer and a fellow member here on SDN got interviews early last week at the Boston Medical Multicultural mental health center so I tossed that in the reject pile. As mentioned earlier, dates are every Thursday.

Thanks for the congrats Sampaguita. I guess an anecdotal lesson I've learned is to not completely rule a place out till the rejection arrives. Though, it's been easier on the nerves just to cross out a name rather than wait anxiously for something to come. Cheers.

It seems to be rolling offers or something for the child tract at St. Lukes/Roosevelt. I got an invite to interview over phone earlier today. They offered two days next week (yes, next week) or in January (dates TBA).

Nothing from Trinitas...I applied for St. Luke's too, and haven't heard anything either 🙁

Hey Existenz, I have a similar problem, but both sites are in my top 3 (ugh) ... what did you decide to do?

Similar problem here. Three sites all scheduled me for the same date - one on the west coast, one on the east coast, and one in the south Really wish I had a clone... The west coast site was most limited so I kept that, asked the east coast if I could move to a different date (they offered a few others if the assigned date didn't work) and while the south didn't offer any other date, they didn't specifically say they *couldn't* do alternative dates, so I asked if I could come on a different date. The admin assistant said she'd check and see and will let me know, otherwise they are willing to do a phone interview.

Unless they specifically say they CAN'T/WON'T do alternative dates, I'd go ahead and ask if you can come on a different day (while making it clear that you are still very interested). For my southern site, I gave them several dates that would work to try and be as flexible as possible and I stated that I understood if an alternative date could not be granted and that in that case, I would love to set up a phone interview (which they had offered). Just my two cents. I don't think it hurts to ask to come on another day if they don't specifically say they can't/won't do it.

I just got a rejection from the Central Arkansas VA. That is my 6th rejection and I have 2 interviews. I am still waiting to hear back from 9 sites. Should I be worried? I am really worried about only having two interviews so far. Someone on here said 7 was the number that was ideal. That means I still need five interviews. I am really feeling discouraged. I only applied to places that I really felt were a good match, but apparently many of the places I applied do not view me in the same way. 🙁

There are still lots of sites that haven't responded to applicants yet, and there is no point in counting your lack of chickens before they have hatched. Who knows how many left over eggs will still hatch!? (had to keep going with the metaphore). Also, if history is a guide, I can imagine there will be plenty of APA sites left in the second match. And now that they have changed it from clearinghouse, good applicants have a better chance of matching in the second match. Before, it was first come first serve (essentially) so mediocre applicants who were faster got sites. Keep those chins up, there is still a lot of time left.

Yeah looked like a mass email. They give you a link where you log the date you want to interview out of the options given. Pretty cool, as I don't have to wait around for a reply now.

I personally know 3 people who had between 2-4 interviews and still matched to really excellent APA sites with good training. I know that the average number is much higher, but if you interview well and you are a good match, all you really need is one person who really likes you and will advocate for you. That is the beauty of the match!

Thanks! Sounds like you've got some awesome interviews already though! This process is so weird, I've got rejections from less competitive sites I though I was a great match with, and then some interviews from places I thought were a reach.

By the way, found a rejection from Children's National in my spam folder.
