I think that visiting *may* help an applicant. I know the TD and for the general application/interview process (not specific to his site), he encourages a lot of contact (e-mail before you submit your app, e-mail after you submit your app, e-mail to confirm interview, e-mail/write after the interview). I would say at the very least, e-mail him and, if it is possible for you and you are interested enough, visit. He pays *very* close attention to very small details so proof read your e-mail(s) carefully (not that you wouldn't go over them anyway...he's just fairly particular and is understandably frustrated by the frequent typos people put in his own name as well as that of the site - ie: it's CAMC, not CMAC).
Please note - I am not buddy/buddy with the TD and cannot ask him about specific applications and it would be awfully strange to ask him what he prefers applicants do regarding visiting/not visiting. The information above is based solely on hearing him speak (at length) about the application/interview process. Feel free to ask questions if you'd like and I'll do my best to answer based on what he has said, but again his comments were about the general process. Anyway...just thought I'd throw that in there. Definitely e-mail at the very least to express your continued interest in the program (with brief but specific examples of what you like about the program). Good luck!
