I completely agree. I'm 99% certain it will be a rejection, but I'd like the confirmation from them so that I can go ahead and book all of my travel. I understand holding out for a little while before sending out rejections, but it seems unnecessary to wait until the final day. I hope I hear soon... I'm excited to move out of the invite phase and start focusing on upcoming interviews

don't give up yet! some sites have generic emails that aren't sent out in bulk. 8 interviews is great, though! are any of them at VAs? i definitely prepared myself for rejections today, but you never know.

I was at the Honolulu VA for undergrad (NC-PTSD, but did some stuff at Tripler too) and worked closely with the interns, attended all the didactics etc...loved my experience there (they did too), great opportunities if you love diversity stuff. Only thing is Oahu is not the nicest of islands...way too congested, although beaches are nicest in Hawai'i 🙂

I'm still waiting on them too. Seems like they sent out a 2nd wave of lots of rejections and invitations not too long ago. Kinda makes me wonder if they forgot about me/got the wrong email...I'm waiting on them and Central Texas VA....

Princeton went out yesterday for invites... they had 2 dates for interviews (the 10th and the 24th)

I am still waiting on Alexian Brothers. Last year someone received an interview on 12/16 in the afternoon. I am not that hopeful that I will hear today.

I reviewed their website (and entire information packet) again too! I applied to General so we prob don't have the same people reviewing it. My guess is that they are on the fence about us and are maybe waiting to see if there are any interview slots left to offer us before they reject us. Definitely let me know if/when you hear. Three more to hear from. Although from the sounds of it, two of them won't be until later this week or early next week (Purdue CC and Adler Community Health Services). Here's to hoping I at least hear from Grand Valley State CC today!

I received a rejection from Tewksbury yesterday. It was personalized, but hopefully you're still in the running! It also happened to be a very, very nice email, which made the sting slightly less painful. slightly.

I too am still waiting on Cambridge. Pretty confident it's a big fat no at this point.

On another note, did anyone else receive a "you're an alternate interview candidate if any of our interviewee's cannot attend their interview" from Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health? While I'm pleased it's not another definite no, I'm at a loss for what to do, as I was holding off on booking a flight to Ohio for another interview until I knew, and now it appears as though I'm still in a holding pattern. I'm leaning toward just booking it...

This process has been a nightmare so far. I only have 3 interviews. I engaged in some serious retail therapy today though and I have to admit, it felt amazing.

Yes, I received an email offer from them just a couple of hours ago. They assigned me an interview date (didn't ask me to choose but chose for me and asked me to confirm), so not a mass email.

Yes, I am also an alternate at Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health. Its annoying. I don't know how long we'll stay alternates (they just called me to tell me today because the emails they tried to send me kept bouncing back for some reason).

Just wrote an email to the Tewksbury director and heard back from her pretty quickly. Turns out they might be having issues with notification and they thought that I'd already been sent an invite!

If anyone still waiting to hear from them, I'd suggest emailing!

Well it was *very* personalized. Like I said they assigned interview dates. It also had my name and the specific rotations I had requested and that I had been approved for those rotations. So, I wouldn't assume that it will be a rejection for you.

I am sometimes hesitant to put things on here because I don't want to make other people feel discouraged 🙁

Someone said that it is through the essays that we can be distinguished from each other. If that's true then I don't have a chance because my essays were absolutely awful. I have never struggled so much to write so little and so poorly.

While the essays are an important part of application selection, once you get to your interview, they pretty much go out the window (similar to GRE cut-off schools during the grad school application process). At the interview sites are focused mostly on fit, and if they thought enough of your application to invite you, I don't think your essays will negatively impact their view of you.

Invites from MEDVAMC (Houston VA) are beginning to go out. Dates offered are:

Jan. 3, 7, 10, 14

There are apparently morning (8a - 1p) and afternoon(12p - 5p) slots on each of the above dates.

They are a wonderful site. Back when I interviewed there I was really impressed by their training options. They have two really interesting neuro guys and their training director is very nice. They really value research and they like to keep on their interns for post-doc. They work with a research organization down there (for post-docs), so if you want to stay in the Houston area, it is a great place to be. Be warned, the VA is huge! 😉 The Starbuck's / Coffee place is where they met us. I remember that because it was COOOOLD and I had a nice hot coffee to thaw out. I wasn't wild about the location of the VA, but supposedly there were some good housing options in and outside of the area.

Thanks for the info! Has anyone been rejected from family service and guidance center in Topeka Kansas? That's the very last one I'm waiting on.

There is a store in topeka that specializes in gun holsters and cowboy hats. No joke. It was awesome! The name escapes me, but you'll know it if you see it. Holster's and Hats...something like that.

Did anyone here apply to KU med center?

That's a great training site. Same for the UF Health Sciences and the U of Oklahoma Health Sciences...if you land at any of them you'll be in a great position to apply for post-docs.

I just interviewed at the Community Services Institute this Monday. I was told that they are only interviewing 15 people and that the invites have already gone out. I received a phone call for my invite. I hope this helps.
