Complete today.. 1 week shy of 4 months.

I'm going to be checking my mail for my rejection. :-/

I submitted on September 12 and have not heard anything back yet! Im at a 3 month mark.. I really hope this long wait doesnt lead up to a rejection.. 😕

Guh so ridiculous!
I submitted approx a month after you so I'll be waiting until January just to be complete? Crazy

Blah,

I submitted in September also, and have not been complete yet. I am shocked at how long this is taking. Glad I'm not the only one.

Wait...

So are both pre-interview and post-interview LOIs and updates not welcome here? Or is it just pre-interview. I called after my interview to ask, and they said yes, but someone else called and they got a no.

😕

based on the "hold list" letter i got, it seemed like they are not receptive to post interview letters. it said something along the lines of "any further decision will be made based on the material CURRENTLY in your file" (and I think currently was bolded or underlined)

It says PRESENTLY.

Whelp, guess I'll be happy with my other acceptances, then.

Accepted.

Interviewed: 10/29
Letter dated: 12/5
Letter recieved (Hoorah): 12/14

Stats: IS, 39Q, 3.65 cGPA/sGPA.

Thanks, and thanks.
It's my second time through the application process, and this is my first acceptance... Plus, PSU COM is my parent's Alma Mater, and it's in my home town. So it's especially sweet.
I'm on cloud 9, at least.
😀

Aaaaannnd ... I just got marked complete. I submitted in early September.

Hey guys, what is the next correspondence sent after "continue to review"?

Sent from my DROID3 using SDN Mobile

Anyone get an II yet after a continue to review snail mail letter?

officially passed the 10 week mark post interview. still no word, driving me crazy.

I got my acceptance letter in the mail more than 10 1/2 weeks after interview. Hang in there.

Well I just called the admissions office and they said "letters will start going out tomorrow"

Did they give any indication of what interview dates that includes? I Interviewed Nov. 9. Not really expecting to hear to January but earlier would be pretty neat!

wow just got the complete email after submitting on September 4th. I already gave up on this school a long time ago, but wow what a joke. Can I get a refund on that secondary fee please? 🙄 If not, I request that the school donate the money to a charity for child victims of sexual abuse.

Just got marked complete today, submitted on 09/07.
Wow, over 3 months 😱

It's really not any different than getting marked complete the day after submitting your secondary but then having to wait 2-3 months until your application gets looked at. Penn State marks your application complete after it has been reviewed.

Yes I'm aware of that.

It is kind of different. Waiting to be marked complete makes me wonder if I've not turned in some vital paperwork/information, or if a glitch in the system happened.

It took me like 12 weeks to get marked complete. Since then, I'm still waiting. But at least I KNOW they have all my information. Puts my mind at ease in that sense.

Not any different in the way it gets processed/reviewed, I guess I meant. I'm still waiting to be marked "complete" at one school and it definitely is frustrating not knowing if I should be worried about it or not.

sbuxaddict, was addressing the poster above you 🙂

👍 gotcha

You hear anything today?

I'm working in a differenct city than my "home" address that I listed on AMCAS so my parents will have to check the mail and let me know. they don't usually get home until later at night so I'll let you know then but I haven't heard anything yet.
when did you interview? are you expecting to hear soon? also, this is assuming that they actually sent letters out on the day they claimed they would - big assumption.

Interviewed early Oct. Really hoping to hear soon.

I'm interviewing at Hershey on Jan. 4th...can anyone give any info on what their interview was like?? Conversational? Did they ask any healthcare or ethical questions? Just wondering what to expect. Thank you!!!

Nothing yet... tomorrow is 8 weeks on the dot... so nervous. omg. Has anybody heard anything at all? If I don't get in I have no idea what I will do

my interviews were very conversational. i didn't have any healthcare or ethical questions but i think that completely depends on who interviews you. hope that helps!

i'm at 11 weeks+ so wait in line haha... i'm thinking we might get something tomorrow? it can either be a very terrible christmas eve or the best one ever... time will tell i guess

8 weeks and nothing.. I think I'll call next week to see what's up. And wrt interview: one of my interviews was a lot about my application and not really a conversation but a formal interview. The other was a conversation adn was amazing

Just got off the phone with admissions office (surprised they were in the day after christmas). I interviewed on 10/5 so it's been about 12 weeks. From what I gathered from the conversation, I'm in a re-review category... I never got any updates from them so it's a silent-type deal. Basically from here there's no timeline, I can be in this category until the spring... I'm not really sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, I suppose it means I'm in a better position that being on a waitlist? On the other hand, this is just plain frustrating.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that :/ but there's still hope at least... do you think it's okay to call if I interviewed 8 weeks ago (11/5)..? or should I just hold out for something?

Yeah, I have an interview on Jan 3rd and was really hoping to have the pleasure of withdrawing from that haha. The woman I spoke to (who was really nice btw) kept stressing that my situation "is very common" since their secondary deadline is Jan. 15 and the admissions committee wants to give everyone a fair shot at being reviewed by the committee (which totally defeats the purpose of hauling ass and submitting the application ASAP). After looking at previous years' threads, it didn't seem like it was very common in past years but this year's thread seems to reflect that - there doesn't seem to be much post-interview movement. Maybe after over-accepting too many people last year they are being extra cautious this year?

Anyways, in terms of whether you should call to see if you're in this same category I'd say go for it. It'll put your mind at ease (although it didn't do much good for me, but at least I know now) and throughout this whole process there's really nothing else that's in our control so we might as well exercise our right to call the admissions office... Obviously, don't overdo it and always be cordial. Hope that helps and let me know what they say if you do end up calling!

How did people from OOS travel to penn state for their interview? Thanks

Got an II today. I am out of state and was complete early September.

anyone get an II that got the continue to review letter in the mail?

I'm flying into Harrisburg. It's an awful flight, but I didn't want to risk driving from Philly in the middle of a snow storm.

I have an interview coming up on the 14th. Any tips for the interview? Or how to dress in Hershey during the middle of winter?
