Yeah, anyone know how many people have been placed on the HPWL so far? It seems like last year everyone (on SDN) on the HPWL pretty much got in and the year before a number of people got off the regular waitlist...
 
has anyone recently heard back in terms of hpwl or got upgraded from just wl?
 
Is it possible to be 'upgraded to HPWL' from the regular wait list?

According to previous years, it is not possible to be upgraded. :-(. Anyone hearing back yet from the hpwl or will there be no movement until after the 15tg. I was kind of hoping the high priorities would get in now giving the rest of us a chance in may/ June.
 
I am curious to know how many are on the HPWL. Most of us on this thread seem to be on the regular waitlist, or am I wrong?

Does anyone know if this is true? I'm trying to decide on Stony for sure or not and I'm having a hard time without knowing the financial aid info. Is it true that we won't hear about this until June? And is it true that there are no merit awards? Whenever I called the financial aid office, this was never mentioned to me...
 
Yes, this is true, if it weren't I wouldn't have said it 😕


Jk, it was said directly at Revisited. Need based only, find out in June. If you want a rough idea and your decision is dependent on aid she will estimate for you. Merit doesn't start until after M1.

Accepted: 04/02 (4), 05/01 (2)
HPWL: 03/27 (2)
WL: 3/28(5), 04/26 (2), 05/02 (4)


Feel free to update/ alter as you see correct!
 
since i got a pm about it. i withdrew from the hpwl a couple of weeks ago.

Finally got the post-interview rejection today. I was really hoping that I could have a chance here... This result was kinda expected because I think I didn't click with my interviewers at stony brook. I guess Einstein is the way to go now! Good luck to those who are still waiting.

Awesome! It would be great if we could get enough people here to keep us all up to date that we can follow the movement as a group and be less blind.

On that know, anyone heard of anyone in off the HPWL so far this cycle? I know in previous years it doesn't start for a while, but wondering if the flood gates have opened yet.
 
Don't think this is super useful for those of you keeping track, but withdrew from the regular waitlist last week. At least I think I did -- any others send an email to withdraw from the WL and not receive a response?

hey current students, how likely is it to be spending most of the clinical years at the university hospital rather than the affiliated hospitals? i dont want to be commuting a lot during my clinical years and prefer to stay at the university hospital, but it does not seem like that is the case for a lot of students.

it is typically doable if you want it and if you don't get it initially in the lottery spots open up later on as people move things around

Wow, that's already four people off the HPWL on SDN alone.. presumably on a list of maybe 10-15 HPWLers. This seems to be moving faster than previous years.. hopefully it gives us regular waitlisters more hope 😳
 
Was also wondering that too if people have been accepted off the WL or HPWL.

Really random question. so my SO is going to Stony Brook for grad school (marine ecology) starting this august (alas I will be going to school in NOLA most likely). she has been looking for housing/roommates and I figured I might shoot something up on this board. she is super friendly and nice (though I guess you would expect me to say that). I was just wondering if anyone has been looking for roommates or housing. plus having a non-medical student roommate might be a good thing, keep everyone sane!
do y'all know of a place where I might be able to post this up to a larger audience and gauge any interest?

I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thank Y'all!!

I am going to guess the acceptance was from the regular WL. Congratulations on the acceptance, drscholls! What a change 2 weeks brought!!
 
Wow! If regular waitlist movement is happening already, that's got to be the fastest its moved in the past few years. We're only 5 days into the 5/15 deadline!

Withdrew my spot today 🙁 Loved the school, but it came down to location/finances. Hope my spot goes to one of you guys!
