Hey everyone, If you got an interview invite, but can't view your dates online, it's probably because you applied to Geisenger. They have different interview dates for the different schools and Geisenger isn't up yet. It should be later this week or by Monday of next week. Just a heads up so you don't freak out for 3 days like I did. Goodluck everyone!

if your status is not updated within a week, you have been silently rejected.

This is most certainly not true. Just because you haven't been updated in a week does NOT mean you are going to be silently rejected. As many have stated on this thread and from friends who have applied to Temple, you might be complete late July and not get an II till December or even later. It's a long process, so wait it out -- you can be accept the day before the first day of med school begins!

But I haven't gotten an email yet saying that I've been invited for the interview. When I try to schedule on the website it says:

"Applicants invited for interview will have an opportunity to schedule only after official email correspondance has been sent."


Just send me the damn email already lol!

FYI for those interviewing on 9/11:

Since the Student Host List is STILL NOT UP A WEEK AFTER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE, and the fact that there is that convention in town and the hotels are booked up, I looked to see if there were any good Hostels around. I found this one and made a reservation:

It's $23 a night. The location is <5 miles from the admissions building. The only catch: the bus station is a mile away. I'll be driving up from Baltimore and so I'll have a car. If anyone happens to book a room on 9/10 and wants to carpool on the morning of 9/11, gimme a PM and we'll set things up.

I was wondering how you get a student host for medical school interviews. Sorry I'm kind of new to this whole thing and I was just wondering is student host something you can find on Temple's website, or any other medical school's website? And then they like match you up with a current medical school student or something? If anybody could explain how to get one to lower the cost of transportation, I would be forever grateful. Thanks!

Go to your Temple Med Online, and click on the "Home" tab. You'll see a link for "Student Host List", and it's basically an excel doc with different students/emails/phone numbers and you just start contacting people and asking.

I interviewed on 9/11 and they said at the info session that they meet every Friday to go over that week's interviewees and decide who to give acceptances to. They told us that they'd have an answer to us by 10/15. I imagine that would be the same for you.

Everybody I talked to said they had a pretty laid back interview. I myself had a kind of snarky interviewer, but the word out is that he's just that way and that there's no correlation between his attitude and your chances. Besides all the usual questions, definitely be ready to talk about your clinical/research experiences. Be ready for Why Temple. Other than that, relax, have fun, and you'll be fine.

Also, FYI, if you're driving to your interview and you have to thread your way through the run down streets of North Philly, BE CAREFUL! I almost ran over a little kid on a bike who just shot out of nowhere.
