Does A&M notify wait listed applicants as people decline their seats or do they hold off until a few people decline? There hasn't been much movement on any of the Texas schools' wait lists and I was wondering if they hold off before sending out more acceptances or there really hasn't been any swapping around yet. I guess historically there's lots of movement in May. The wait is killing me!
Also, can someone be wait listed while holding an acceptance at a lower ranked Texas school? For example, if you have an acceptance at A&M but ranked UTSW higher, are you able to be on UTSW's wait list? The main question I have is, why would someone post-match decline an acceptance when we have the match process. I understand if someone decides to go out of state or personal reasons etc, but who does UTSW pull from (in the above hypothetical situation)? If UTSW only wait lists people that are not already accepted, then in theory there would not be much trickle down wait list movement. I had it in my head that what happens at other Texas schools very much affects what happens at A&M. UTSW has an opening and takes from UTMB which then takes from A&M and then A&M picks one of us! It's all very complicated and my mind keeps thinking of all the ways this might turn out. Anyways, just didn't know if someone already holding an acceptance could be offered a spot at another higher ranked Texas school. Any ideas?
