Yep, I was the chick with the film degree. I was sooooo worried that I was accidentally going to kick out one of your crutches! Hope the leg is better and hope we both hear great news next week!

Same to you!

I many of the notification days have been Fridays

Thanks for the info we seem to be overlapping on many threads! So you received your acceptance by email? And what school is your top choice as it stands right now?

Acceptance is by email and the title is in all caps something about acceptance, so it's pretty obvious. It was the best thing that has ever shown up in my inbox.
At the moment Tulane is the only school I've received "full acceptance" at so it's my top choice (also, I really like the school and am into Tropical Medicine/viruses so it would be a good fit.

12/17er as well. Hopefully some good news will be coming our way Jan. 11th.

Dear Applicant:
We regret to inform you that your application will receive no further consideration for the class to enter the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2013. As you know the class is limited to 192 students, and the available places do not go very far in accommodating the large number of highly qualified applicants who have applied to the Tulane University School of Medicine. We hope that you receive an acceptance to a medical school of your choice and that both success and happiness will be yours as you continue your training.

Boo to the rejections.

I've been complete since the beginning of September. I feel the axe coming.

for those who have interviewed, when did the day finish? do you think a 3:45pm flight would be cutting it close?

When I interviewed, we finished right around 2:30. The airport isn't too far away from the city, but a 3:45 departure would be cutting close. You might be in a tough situation if there is any traffic on the way or a long line getting through security at the airport. However, since the last part of the day is the tour, you could probably just tell them your situation and ask to leave early.

Congrats! Did any other 12/17ers hear back today? I was there with you guys too🙂

12/17 and heard nothing. Totally neurotic all day. Now I have terrible hiccups. Whiskey, makes it better AND worse.

Wait listed, interviewed 12/17.
Love the school and the interview, but $25k a year for in-state tuition is just too damn good. Will be withdrawing here. Hope someone people will move up and get accepted here!

Rejected last week.

I'm a OOS with a 35M, a 4.0 sGPA, a 3.95 cumulative with a math degree from Baylor & a 3.95 MBA.

Not sure what you're looking for Tulane, but I wish I could have at least have gotten an interview. Best of luck to everyone else, and congrats to those accepted.
Sincerely,
😕

When were you complete?

Rejected earlier today via email. It is a bummer but Tulane was a reach school so not entirely unexpected. Good luck to everyone else!

I'm sorry to hear. Do you mind sharing when your were complete?
I sent in my secondary 10/20/2012. I didn't get an email from Tulane saying I was complete and under review until 12/17/2012 though.

yeah just wish their secondary wasn't so expensive.
ah well ain't no shame in their game.....maybe?

I'm interviewing this Friday on the 18th and though I was unable to schedule student hosting, I would love to go out to coffee or lunch with a current medical student. Would anyone be available?

In case medical students don't check these school-specific threads, what would be the best way to get their attentions?

Thank you!

Does anyone know if the merit scholarships (like those $15,000 ones) are given out at the time of acceptance, or later on? How does that work?

I know some people found out in their acceptance letter. I didn't find out until after May.

This is a general question relating to FAFSA.. But if my interview at Tulane isn't until next month (or anywhere for that matter)-- do I list it as a school for FAFSA? Do people list all the schools they are waiting to hear back from for that matter?

Go ahead and list it. They won't bother looking at it if you're not admitted. If you are admitted, they can access it right away.

Hahaha. Security in Louis Armstrong Airport is neverrrr more than 5minutes. I'm serious. You can expect to enter the airport, check-in, & be at your gate within 15 minutes. 20 at most.
I love that airport. There's also a Blue Bell Creamery & Popeyes 😀

But still, you never know about traffic.

As long as your interview day isn't right around mardi gras or the day after the superbowl, the security line will be really short. I think admissions probably doesn't do interviews the Friday before mardi gras, definitely not the Monday before.

Is there a fb group for those intending on attending Tulane next year?
