Seriously! I was looking at last year's thread and it seems like we should have heard more by now. Maybe the committee is meeting less often because there are half as many interviews this year?

There have been additional screens and committees added. I would expect the timing of this year's cycle to be different than last year.

Does the summery interviewer have access to your entire file including secondary? The email says only the AMCAS file is shared but nothing about secondary.

It's been 5 weeks since I submitted my secondary and my letters still haven't been uploaded. A little ridiculous?

yes it takes a while before the double check marks come up. it was about five weeks for me, so you should be getting it soon, but it's another several weeks wait for them to decide on interview...basically i've been waiting about four weeks after my letters were uploaded and still silent

Having interviewed at Vandy I can comment. The "long interview" person has your entire AMCAS file, but not your secondary. I suspect this is a holdover from past years when Vandy used to offer you an interview and only then would request a secondary. Don't know why they do it that way.

The short-interview person knows nothing about you besides your name.

Its been a while since anymore IIs have gone out. Does anyone know how far through the 500 IIs they are?

Figure 30 people/week since mid-September (~10/day, M/T/Th). That would be 200+ interviews so far, and they've probably extended interviews through december. So, my guess is about 300+ invites so far. They go until winter though so I'm sure there will be plenty more going out!

Has anyone whose letters were uploaded around October 5 receive any feedback? Interview, hold or waitilist? The waiting is becoming unbearable. Thank you.

submitted secondary on early September and still no word. My letters should have been uploaded around early October as well.

Anyone know if Vandy accepts pre-interview updates?

Vandy is only going to interview 500 people? There website says yet accept ~300 people so a greater then 50% chance of getting admitted. Awesome.

Probably based on last year's stats when they interviewed ~1000 people.

On my interview day they told us they're interviewing half (500) of those who get a secondary (1000), and accepting ~300, so yeah 60% chance of acceptance after interview. that could include waitlist movement too, I'm not sure, but basically triple the matriculated rate.

Ok. I know it is really late in the cycle, but I went to Vandy for my undergrad and am still hopeful... Does anyone know if they are done sending out secondary invites? When I call they just tell me I will receive a response either way, but it seems so late and I haven't gotten anything. Just wondering.

OMG OMG OMG Accepted today! Got the phone call from the dean! So excited!!

😍😍😍😍

Accepted here this evening as well! Loved the school and surprised at the fast turnaround- only interviewed here about 3 weeks ago

Any thoughts on iis tomorrow? It seems to have been a while I was secondary submitted early sept and blue checks around oct 4th, seems there isnt much for the early october checkwave yet

Did any of you who got accepted know what he said about how to accept the offer or when we'd be getting an email/letter in the mail? I was too excited to ask him all these questions when he offered me a spot in the class earlier tonight

I think he said we would get a letter from him in the mail.

Anyone from 10/29 interview get an acceptance yesterday?

bleck. still nothing and i interviewed earlier than some acceptees 🙁

I interviewed in mid-October and haven't heard back either. Starting to stress out a bit. Vanderbilt is definitely my number one, and my interviews went really well (I thought). I had practiced most of the questions they asked before and had good specific examples. I'm thinking about writing a LOI, should I do it or is it too early? I just love this school so much!! Anyone from past years have any advice on interviewing early and being accepted later than expected? Thanks!

No secondary in 10 weeks......deadline for secondary to be submitted is December 1st soooo yea....patiently waiting for my mail...😴

I'm right there with you... Over 14 weeks and no secondary. So, I called last Friday and finally someone to answer that would look up my application. She said something should have been mailed to me Oct. 14th. She said she would make sure that it got mailed out again, but wouldn't tell me what decision was included in the mailer. I would assume "mail" means rejection, but I still haven't received it. So, I still wait and hope. Love Vandy. Its where I did my undergrad and I would love to go back.

Mail from Vandy is a rejection (or acceptance package...).

if you log into the portal, a link will come up where you can reserve your place in the class (separate from IRS). no fee or anything, just a yes or no box. there was a URL in the letter when i got it a few weeks ago, but it was just a link to the portal haha. it might not be up right away, but i didn't think to look until i got the letter

<3 vandy <3 yay!!!! congrats everyone on your acceptances!! hopefully we can be future classmates =)

how long did it take you to get your stuff in the mail? and if you don't mind, what's the URL for this portal you speak of?

Just received an II!!! So excited!!

Available dates are around December 7th to late January.

Just received an II as well!! Super pumped!

Has anyone with the "under active consideration for an interview" emails received an II, rejection, or otherwise? Haven't heard anything in over a month since the last email. Kind of worried.

II today as well!
Submitted mid-Sept and had both checks around 10-18.

How advantageous is it to schedule the interview early, or does it not really make a difference? Eg. mid-December vs. late-January.

So I interviewed the first week of October and am getting really nervous seeing people who interviewed after me getting accepted... Vanderbilt is basically my top choice. Still, I'm holding out hope!! :xf:

Congrats to those who have been accepted and to everyone else, good luck!

Yeah, feeling similarly. Mostly I'd like to know if this silence is leading to rejection, or if they're just taking longer to consider us for whatever reason.

Anyone complete with both check mars around early October and have not heard of anything? I might try calling them after thanksgiving... I might have missed a rejection in snail mail but never got it yet.

I had both checkmarks around october 4, so I called the admission to inquire about the status of my application. She told me a decision has yet to be made on my file and that I should give it a couple of weeks. Although, I am not sure, you might be in the same position.

Cool, Thanks!
When did you contact them by the way? If it is recent, it should be 2 weeks after thanksgiving?

mid december vs late january seems like a rather large difference. if there is a difference of less than a month/few weeks then I dont think it really matters, so having said that, I would try to choose mid december if i were you. But of course there may be other considerations that you may be taking into account such as preparedness by late january bc you may have had more practice by then or you will be in the area anyways then so it saves costs or you will hear back from schools you would rather go to by then so it may be a cost effective decision. I dont really know what other factors you are considering here but ultimately it is up to you. i think it is advantageous to do it earlier but if you need more practice before, it may end up being more advantageous delaying.

Vanderbilt has rolling admissions so I would guess that the earlier you interview the better your chances of acceptance are. It may make only a small bit of difference, though.

Has anyone submitted updates to Vandy? I am thinking of doing so pre interview, post secondary, but wasnt sure about format (email/snail-mail). If no one has, I will try calling the office friday or more likely monday. Thanks!

For you guys that got the acceptance call last Wednesday, have you gotten the official letter in the mail yet and/or is there a link in your portal to accept the offer? I know we usually have 2 weeks to respond, and its already been a week, and offices probably won't be open until Monday, so I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something that we should be doing. Thanks!
