Hi
🙂
I would go, personally. I've run this scenario past my professors and overall, have been told that any chance you get to show interest in the site, meet the staff, and let them meet you, personally, is going to increase your chances. I think unconsciously it would be hard not to favor someone you had the opportunity to sit with and experience in person. Since that's so important in our profession, I think it helps.
But, of course, these are trained professionals who can sense people without being in the room with them, and it would be discriminatory to rank only individuals who had the financial means to visit the site. I think it's nice that so many UCC's are phone-only because it levels the playing field regarding financial privledge (but I'm a sucker for in-person interviews because I think I do better!
🙂 )
that was wishy-washy, but my opinion is if you can go, go. good luck!
