Remember to breath 🙂 I have a feeling the adult/child tracks will not be done reviewing until much closer to the Dec 15th deadline.
 
Just received an individualized invitation to interview at Brown's Alpert Medical School - it was by e-mail. It was addressed to "Dear Applicant," but it was sent only to my e-mail address and specified the track and specialty.
 
Hi all. I also received an email from Brown to interview for both the General Neuro track and Clinical and Dementia Research Tracks. Like the previous post, it was addressed dear internship applicant.

Is anyone else feeling like anything that gets in the way of waiting for the emails to buzz or the phone to ring is just a distraction? I'm being sooooo unproductive! Internshipitis! 1 rejection, 23 to respond. I would love one interview to ease the anxiety!
 
Just received a generic email (appeared to be a mass email) invitation to interview at the South Texas VA.

Hi, would you mind sharing when you submitted your applications to Brown? I also applied to the Neuro track.
 
Brown just sent out a mass email invite (applicants were bcc-ed) for the Health Psych/BMed track. It's a good way to start the week 🙂

Just received an interview at Rush -- the invite was by e-mail and I had to go through the process of creating a password to open the "secure message" attached and then download a letter with information regarding my status. Thankfully, it was an invite! But that was pretty nervewracking.

Congratulations all! I too recieved an invitation to interview at Brown and am eager to hear which of my preferred interview dates I am assigned. This waiting game is crazy!

Just got an invite to Brown. I applied to the adult clinical track. It was a mass email on which I was bcc'd.
 
Hi all! I just received an interview offer from Brown for the Adult track. I'm so excited! For the record, it was addressed to "Internship Applicant" but did specify the track, etc., like the others above.
 
Just received a personalized interview invite via email from Spring Grove Hospital. Good luck everyone!
 
Mass email invite for interviews at SUNY UPSTATE Child Track and University of Rochester Medical Center Child Track.

I just woke up to an invite to the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group's Brockville site. It was personalized (Dear _____) and gave detailed directions about how to go about scheduling the interview.

I was rejected from their Ottawa site but that's okay 'cause Brockville is a better fit.

What a good birthday present to wake up to! My first interview!!

Oh and for any of you plus-size women, I was in the US last week and found some amazing suits at Avenue for SUPER cheap. Like we're talking $20 for a blazer kinda cheap.
 
So far it sounds like people have heard from virtually every track at Brown, but nobody has posted re: the clinical child speciality (not pediatric). If someone has heard from this track, could you please post? Many thanks, and congrats to all the folks hearing about interviews today so far!

Both are great training sites, well done!

AnonymousName: When you visit MEDVAMC, make sure to follow the colored lines on the floor (that direct you to the various services), as that place is worse than a cornfield maze! FWIW, I was very impressed by their training, and if you are a fan of the Houston area...they have a tendancy to give first crack at the post-doc positions to their interns. They also have a great relationship with a research group that typically offers a couple of research post-docs most years.

Has anyone NOT heard from the Asheville VA? Sorry if I have already asked this question.. just worried because I know email rejections went out, and some applicants have received interview phone calls. I know I need to be more patient, it is just so hard! 😛

Did they tell you about your status for each site in the email? I'm curious as I applied to both, but haven't heard anything yet.
 
Has anyone who was caught up in the Nov. 1st payment problem on APPIC (i.e., you submitted "on time" according to the site but paid a little late) heard from a site with that deadline? I know it's early still, but I haven't heard from any of my eight submitted for the Nov. 1 deadline and it's making me a little uneasy.

What a nice thing to do for your husband! This process is a *bit* anxiety-provoking, so I'm glad your hubby has something of a buffer! Good luck!
 
Almost all sites send rejections. Some don't until December 15th or thereabouts, but at least it's better than graduate school process in that way.

I haven't heard anything yet...one way or another....I'm losing my mind. I only got the email from Portland VA that I'm still under consideration based solely on the numbers.
 
Does anyone know if APPIC reimburses for applications to internships that are discontinued? Considering the ongoing budget cuts across countries, I imagine this situation has come up a few times.

I believe on the listserv Jason Williams has said that they can credit money toward another application but won't reimburse you.
 
I just heard via personalized email that I got an interview at Stanford Children's Hospital/Children's Health Council. The odd thing is that they apparently sent out the notifications last week (I'm a little unclear on the timeline) and were recontacting me because they had yet to hear back with my date preferences. I am so glad they emailed me again because this is my top choice!!!!

I'm so scared something like that will happen to me. My school's server is known for emails not getting to their rightful places :scared:
 
Lexington VA- interview offer via phone ....so it might take a while for them all to get out

Don't worry - I put in like 15 for the Nov 1 deadline and they all went in before that "blip" and I haven't heard either 🙂
 
Just received a rejection from UNC School of Medicine as well- personalized email. It was for the adult eating disorders track.

Why did my first response have to be a rejection?????? 🙁
