Have any of the MSTP applicants heard back anything at all? Interviewed back in october and they said 4-6 weeks.

I'm with you- interviewed in October, was told to hear in mid-November to early December...and here we are starting February. No one else posted about acceptances in the MD/PhD Acceptances thread though, either. I think their last interview date was last week, so maybe we will hear soon?

That's so weird. I didn't think office of diversity is giving out acceptances in the first place.
BTW.. I interviewed mid-January and no word yet.

I think I received a congrats from them. This was a couple of hours or days after my initial acceptance e-mail.

That's very odd, but you may have just gotten very lucky. I tell you this only anecdotally, and it may be completely false, but I seem to recall hearing about a similar situation, in which a school accidentally sent someone an acceptance even pre- ii, and the school was forced to take the applicant.

An email doesn't mean anything and isn't binding. IMO, the school would only be forced to accept the student if the school sent an official letter with an admissions deans signature.

That's REALLY weird. I don't appreciate being in limbo since October, without even so much as a "hold" notice. No one in the MD/PhD Acceptance Thread has posted anything about Einstein, and no one in the rejection thread either.

Also- if Einstein is your number 1, a student I talked to during my interview told me to let them know that- that Myles considers that in decisions.

Which Einstein at Home event are you referring to? Is that an event in the city? (They have had that in the past)

I believe it's on March 27 in the Medical Science Building. I'm exciting to see Einstein again for a second look, but didn't know of this was it.

I got an II in December for an interview in late March. Really excited about it (and Einstein!), but with such a late interview date I'm wondering what my realistic chances might be since admissions are rolling after the first round of acceptances...is this pretty much an interview for a waitlist position? :/ I tried looking on last year's thread to see how people with such late dates fared and couldn't find much of a pattern.

I came here to ask the same question. My interview date is end of April, which is by far the latest interview I've ever heard of anyone getting for any school. Am I interviewing for a wait list? Would they at least tell me before the May 15th deadline so I could consider them against other schools?? 🤔

If you have an interview, then you have a shot at an acceptance. They wouldn't waste time interviewing people solely for wait list spots. That being said, the class will be considerably more full than earlier in the cycle.

(Acceptances offered after April 1 have two weeks from the date of the letter of acceptance to remit the deposit; acceptances after May 1 have ten days to remit the deposit.) "

It was unclear in the email since it said to "kindly disregard...'The scholarship application must be submitted within two weeks of acceptance.'" But then the email talks about logging into a system before a 2 week deadline; however, the S&R Scholarship doesn't require logging into a system. Anyway, I'm quite confused. Hopefully someone here has the answer, because I think the Office of Admissions has today off. Thanks in advance!

Not totally sure about the scholarship issue, but as a general message to HPWL (and regular waitlisters) members: don't give up hope until there's literally no time left. Someone in our class got the acceptance notice a week before orientation started.

Also, somebody start a facebook page! It's a great way for the 2nd years in charge of your orientation to keep you posted over the summer. Good networking with your future classmates too.

And also, do you think this has any impact on someone like myself, who wants to have the best opportunity to match into any specialty I want to, including non primary care fields? Question about the 3rd and 4th year rotations: I noticed that among the core clerkships, there seems to be more time spent in primary care fields (i.e. 11 weeks internal medicine, 7 weeks pediatrics and 4 weeks family medicine, along with three months of sub internships in primary care fields) than other schools. Do you think this is reflective of any particular school philosophy regarding specializing vs. primary care? And also, do you think this has any impact on someone like myself, who wants to have the best opportunity to match into any specialty I want to, including non primary care fields? The core clerkships at Einstein are really strong and will prepare you well for any specialty you choose, the curriculum has NO impact on what specialty you can match into. The clerkships are not made to be focused on primary care at all. For example your 11 weeks of medicine are all inpatient (hospital based) and subspecialty rotations. The curriculum is designed to make you the strongest graduate possible, and I would honestly say we are about average in term of people wanting to do primary care (which isn't much). After talking to other medical students during residency interview our 4th year is one of the most flexible 4th years of all schools and will allow you as much elective time in a specialty of your choice as you want. I am not doing primary care and am confident I could have chosen any specialty I wanted to go into.
