It's hard to not take a rejection personally, but in most cases having a site not invite you for an interview is because the fit wasn't ideal. You want to interview at places that believe you are a great match and can add to their program.

Self-care is HUGE because the process is very much a marathon, not a sprint.
 
Got a rejection from UAB Adult Track. Not all that surprising, the fit wasn't so great for me!

I did get an interview from Henry Ford Health System Health track on Monday (interviews are Fridays in January), and an interview from Wellspan Behavioral Health in York, PA.
 
I got the same email as Jennigold this morning. (Misery loves company, right?). I did kind of expect that one, though, and the stats about the site's competitiveness helped a little. So I'm not that disappointed.

First email of many.... and it was a rejection from Patton State Hospital. It was a mass email on 11/20 and I applied to both the neuropsych track and the forensic track. The email did not specify that the track had anything to do with it but that they were interviewing only 22 applicants.

Official rejection from the Puget Sound (Seattle) VA, via email.

I was working out for the first time in weeks when I heard the ding from my email. I think the world is telling me NOT to exercise (Seattle VA).... or at least that is how I will choose to interpret this rejection.
 
Another Seattle VA rejection here. And Patton State Hospital. Both very competitive, but still, within an hour of each other? Sorry for the rest of you who got these too 🙁
 
Yale University SOM invitation via a surprise phone call - be ready, didn't think places did phone invites anymore!

Patton State interview received today with an email stating 22 total interview offers.

Mine is for forensics, bit it doesn't state if the 22 is neuro, forensic, or both.
 
Well, so my curiosity won out over my avoidance. I am refreshing this site more than I'd like to admit +pissed+. I still have not heard any good or bad news from any of my sites. Every day I wake up thinking "today is the day!" and then I spend the next 12 hours trying to distract myself and trying not to have a mild panic attack every time I see a new email. :bang:

I think it's 22 total because I applied for a different track and the rejection email said they are inviting 22.

Updated! Congrats to the interviewees and condolences to those who have received rejections.

I hope you like the earlier update time--please keep in mind that, while I try to be consistent, updating this thread is rather time consuming (1-3 hours per day depending on the number of notifications), I can only do it from home (updating without a double screen set-up would take maybe twice as long), and many of my teaching, research, and clinical duties and classes run into evening hours. I know this is a very anxiety-inducing process and really want the thread to be a good resource for you all, so I do try to be as consistent as possible, but I can't promise anything like a 7 pm PST update everyday or your money back. 😉 (Also, in case you all were wondering, I only wish I got paid for this! 😉 ).

General/Forensic Track at Patton State Hospital - mass email received 11/20 with interview dates of: 12/4, 12/5, 12/6, 12/9, 12/10, 12/12, 12/13, 12/17, 12/18, 12/19, 1/7, 1/9, 1/10, 1/14, 1/15, 1/16, 1/17, 1/21, 1/22, 1/23, 1/24, and 1/27
 
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS); Adult Track invitation by email on 11/18. Interview dates 12/19 and 1/16. Good luck to everyone! This process sucks/is exciting. And I have never loved/hated this website as much as I do now! Thank you futureapppsy2!

I updated the list with the Yale SOM track (forensic addictions), Patton State Hospital (general/forensic) invites, and the UAMS (adult track invites). Also, I fixed the alphabetizing-sorry about that! (I know my ABCs, I swear! 😉 )
 
Hi all,

First off, futureapppsy2- THANK YOU!!

Second- Nationwide Children's, Neuropsych track rejection e-mail received today (generic e-mail)

Next, I applied to all 3 tracks at UAB. I received an e-mail interview invite for the adult track, and 6 minutes later, a rejection e-mail not specifying anything about tracks.... left me extremely confused. Did this happen to anyone else?! I responded to clarify of course- thankfully the interview invite for the adult track stands, but the reply basically said: you applied to all tracks, you're interviewing for the adult track, but you're rejected from child track. But what about the third track? I will re-read the e-mails when I'm less tired and delirious (certainly possible I misread or misinterpreted something) but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience.

Just received an invitation for interviews from VA Pittsburg! Interviews are Dec. 9, Jan 6, Jan 17, and Jan 24. It was a mass email.

I am so excited!! This is my first interview!!!

Kings County/Adult Track Interview Invite. Personalized Email/Letter Attachment. December 10th Interview. (This site has been sending rolling invites for almost two weeks now---so it is a good example of the time lapse between different 'batches' of invites!!!!
 
jjeggles, i'm so glad you posted that piece of hope just now...with my first notification (rejection) yesterday and nothing else, I have been incessantly checking my email today - and its not letting me get any other work done! maybe now I can take a breath and CHILL OUT! :drowning:

Anyone apply to Asheville VA? They typically do phone interviews around this time (I've heard) and later send out rejections. Just curious.

Yale SOM: Consultation Center. Invitation via personal email received 11/21. Interview date: Jan. 10.
 
Interview invite received today (11/21) for University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (Child and Pediatric funding source) via email (pretty sure it was a mass email). Interview dates are:

Monday, December 16

Wednesday, January 8

Friday, January 17

Wednesday, January 22
 
argh, so many sites that have been named by sdners that i haven't heard from.....time to start spastically cking my junk folders!
 
SUNY Upstate Medical, Adult Track, non-personalized email on 11/21. You choose three preferred dates on any MWF before 12/23 and after 1/1, no interviews on MLK Day (1/20). You also specify morning or afternoon preference. They said they would get back to me with a specified day. So excited!!

Do you mind me asking when you submitted your application? I also applied there and wasn't expecting to hear from them for awhile given how recent their deadline was.
 
Interview invitation received today (11/21) from Nationwide Children's Hospital (IDD track) by mass email.
 
Generic e-mail invite this morning to Greater Hartford Consortium, interview dates:

December 9, 13, 16 and 20
Jan 6, 10, 13 and 17 "(if absolutely necessary)."

Phone call invitation to interview at Salem VA. Invitation dates: 12/13, 12/16, 12/19, 1/21.
 
Just decided to add a 17th site and apply to Salem VA today...I guess they're doing rolling invites then...I hope I'm not too late!
 
I applied (early) to Salem VA and haven't heard anything yet.
