2013-2014 APPIC (internship) interview thread

No word from VAMHCS for me yet, though I also didn't apply to the tracks people listed (VA Comprehensive). Its not the greatest fit for me given its a comprehensive track and I'm pretty specialized, so I won't be too surprised if I land in the rejection pile. I've been lucky enough to do extremely well with invites thus far so I certainly can't complain too much if they pass on my application.

Got a mock interview tomorrow which is good since I have a real interview next week! Then a big gap and what is already looking to be an absolutely crazy January (not that I'm complaining).

I had my mock interview last friday. It felt strange given that I only had interview thus far, but was good practice. I told my DCT who was doing the interview to really try and throw me off so that I could see where I needed to prep better before the actual interviews.
 
Congrats! I haven't gotten anything so sounds like I'm probably rejected. I figured it was a longshot, anyway.
 
Wait list from Rush University (Child and Adolescent) via non-personalized e-mail. Kind of not sure how to think about this and didn't really know that this was a thing! They say that I will be notified via e-mail and phone if an interview slot opens up.

Guess it's better than a rejection but I'm not exactly rejoicing... Still waiting for my first interview! Sigh...
 
Just looked at last year's application thread. Baltimore VA/UMB Consortium sent out mass emails on 2 separate days (I am assuming for the different tracks). Who knows if the same goes for this year, but still possible.

Fingers crossed! I'm really hoping for an interview here.. Like Ollie, I applied for the VA Comprehensive track.

I'm guessing it has to do with where the tracks are housed. The people who have gotten invites so far had applied to VA tracks (with one exception who had applied to a VA track and a UMB track). I applied to the child outpatient track through UMB, and I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully we'll hear soon!!
 
WOW, i spoke too soon. Literally right as I clicked back to my email after posting this, I got an email invite from VAMHCS/UMB. It was a non-personalized email, offering one interview date-- January 23.

Edited to say: The interview is for the Child Outpatient Track.

Rejection from Milwaukee VA received Monday 11/25 via mass email.

No surprise here! Great program, but too competitive for me. 🙂

Ahh! Just went from 1 interview to 3 in a 10-minute period...
VAMHCS/UMB (Baltimore VA) Health Psychology track, mass email 11/25--dates offered 1/2 and 1/9
Salem VA, phone call 11/25, scheduled for 12/16--also I just submitted this app near the end of last week!!
 
Congrats, Rorshocked! Seems like Salem is doing rolling invites so maybe I still have a chance, but I submitted my app early so maybe not.

I wouldn't despair yet! There was no BCC. It seems that a number of programs have been sending invites in some type of iterative fashion, so here's hoping for the best all around. Best of luck!

I initially read this as Central Arkansas VA (a place I applied), and immediately felt a surge of awfulness. Phew, that was close. Congrats on the interview
 
Finally heard something and it was good news! Received an interview invite for the generalist track at the Edmonton Consortium today via personalized email. Interview dates from Jan 6 to Jan 17.

Did anyone receive a rejection from University of Chicago from any of the other tracks? I'm pretty sure I'm not getting an interview there, but still hanging on to the tinniest sliver of hope!

I got a rejection email tonight from the Adult/Health Psychology Track at University of Chicago (it seemed to be a mass e-mail and wasn't personalized).
 
Interview offer received (personal e-mail) 11/25 from University of Wisconsin Madison Psychiatry (General Track) - Interview dates: 1/6, 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/27

Interview offer received (personal e-mail) 11/25 from Vanderbilt Consortium (Adult Psychiatry) - Interview dates: 12/6, 12/17, 1/9, 1/21
 
Pennsylvania Hospital interview offer received by mass email on 11/25; applicants select preferred date. (eeek!)
 
OK, there it is: Rejection from University of Chicago, Eating Disorder track, mass email.

Sigh... this is so depressing.
 
Updated! TONS of news today--I actually finished updating and then had to go back in and add more. Congrats and condolences as appropriate. Hang in there everyone--by the end of this process, your distress tolerance skills will be awesome. 😉

Oh, sorry if I was misleading. I didn't get a rejection but the update says that someone got an mass email invite.
