Seriously. I replied to an offer email within 30 minutes (I was asleep, so I couldn't have replied earlier!) and got my 3rd choice interview date because the first 2 were already full. Do I have to wake up every 15 minutes to check email now? I'm already not sleeping that well! Sigh. This is a better problem to have than last year (where I just got rejection after rejection), but still.
 
Has anyone heard from MEDVAMC today? Or will we have to wait until Monday to hear something?
 
Rejections SUCK. Period. Anyone think we will hear from places the Friday after thanksgiving, or will that day be 'off limits' so to speak? Wake me up in March.

Well, according to last years thread, some places did send out emails on Friday. But the majority came the week after Thanksgiving.

I'm guessing that many staff will be reading applications over Thanksgiving.
 
Avocado, is there a reason you seem to be expecting MEDVAMC to send out notifications already? I just double-checked their website to make sure the date I have in my spreadsheet wasn't wrong and they only list the 12/15 notification deadline. Obviously I'm hoping they will send them out sooner too - just wasn't sure if you had some reason to expect it to come by Monday.

In my experience, waiting to hear about interviews was much, much worse than waiting for match day. Knowing that each of your sites can notify you at any point between now and Dec. 15th was terrible - you're on an intermittent reinforcement/punishment schedule for at least 4 weeks, and it's hard to predict (at least, it was for me) where you're going to get interviews, so you never know what to expect when an email finally shows up in your inbox. You're checking your phone and email constantly, trying to will sites to contact you. Bad news can come at any hour of the day. It's awful.

Once you submit your rankings, though, you know with 100% certainty that you won't hear anything until the morning of match day. No more need to be glued to your phone, no action is required on your part, and everything is completely out of your hands. For me, that period of time was the least stressful part of the entire process. :happy:

I applied there and have not heard anything. May I ask how ya know they're planning to interview on Dec. 16th? Good luck to us both!
 
Invitation: CAMH (Toronto), non-individualized email (Dear Applicant), Interview dates: 1/13, 1/15, 1/20, 1/22 and 1/24.

My first interview notification!!!! Fingers crossed for everyone.

Because they have notified as early as Nov. 28th for the last two years

I asked my friend and she said the email was addressed to her but felt rather generic otherwise. I guess that makes it personalized?

I got a rejection from Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital today. A friend of mine got an interview offer for the UMDNJ internship in Newark, NJ today. I'm kind of bummed because I really want to get an interview at UMDNJ but she did apply much earlier than I did so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they are still offering interviews and that I'll hear good news soon.

Best of luck to everyone. Let's shut down the internship part of our brains for now and enjoy Thanksgiving. UGH I know it's hard!
 
Updated! Man, that took forever!

I hope you all have a great day of relaxation with family and friends and a temporary reprieve from checking your email every 5 seconds. Hang in there--you all are truly impressive applicants, and sites that don't invite you are probably missing out. 🙂

I thought so too, but I received my follow up e-mail from Kennedy Krieger with interview dates at 9A eastern. I didn't see it until 11 - so... Whoops! I am still considering the rest of the weekend an off time!
 
I am blessed that I have several interviews, but I've had problems with my 2 safety sites. One only offered one day for an interview, which conflicts with another interview, and the other one APPIC messed up my application, trying to see if they'll still review my materials. I've heard of people with no Phase I interviews matching in Phase II, and people with lots of Phase I interviews not matching- so I take every interview very seriously, and I'm especially upset that there are issues with my 'back-up' sites- would have made me feel better to have those locked down. Anyway, so far no rejections- and I'm waiting for those to come piling in. It's been many years coming for me to apply to internship- lots of issues along the way 🙁 So I feel blessed right now, and wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!:hardy:

If you wouldn't mind sharing, what tracks you are applying for? And does your last name happen to be early in the alphabet? I am waiting on hearing back from KK about my interview dates and I am just trying to figure out whether there is anyway of predicting whether or not I will hear back today since I was not planning to be checking my email as incessantly... THANKS! And, happy thanksgiving!

I heard back today as well for the full year pediatric consultation track. Dates offered were January 9th, 13th, and 24th. The email stated they will let me know at a later date if my interview is in the morning or afternoon. Also, my last name is late in the alphabet.

Yep. Same. I had applied for the behavior management/peds track as well, but was only offered an interview for full year CL. I am not at all sad about that, it's what I want to be doing anyway 🙂

Sounds like APPIC didn't send all my materials to all of my sites (got a call weds about a missing supplemental from one of my sites!). Looked at my application and it was listed on my application. Has anyone else had this happen? Who knows who got all my materials and who did not?!?

I believe that was the date listed in the brochure. It's completely possible that I am incorrect, but I remember thinking that the submission, notification, and interview dates were very closely spaced.
 
Never a day of rest … Black Friday as they say … Univ of Colo Boulder UCC- generic email - didn't make it … but was a stretch given limited Rorschach … email stated they evaluated based on criteria and if you don't have a certain ranking based on that than its a thanks but no thanks … on to the next …

Nope to central Arkansas. I saw that their neuro track was invited, but saw nothing about health psychology.
 
Anyone heard from the Iowa City VA? Their APPIC profile lists 12/12 as an interview date, and it's getting a little close...

I applied to Riverbend and haven't heard anything yet! Ahhh I have a feeling I won't hear anything today...I can't wait until Dec. 15th!!!

I have only heard from one of my sites…and I've applied to 20 now… One rejection and I am crossing my fingers and praying for my first interview notification. I guess we won't hear back from most until Monday at the earliest… This is miserable.
 
Received a rejection today from the Gulf Coast VA. And here I had hoped to get a few days off from my email!

I am interviewing for four tracks: ABA, Behav. Management/Neuropsych., Behavior Management Clinic, and the PDD Clinic. The interview dates I was offered are January 6th, 14th, 23rd, and 27th. They have been very quick and courteous so far-- that is always a pleasant surprise 🙂
