2013-2014 APPIC (internship) interview thread

Generic reject from Univ of Albany 12/2 … "record number of applicants" … congrat's to those with early good news … for those of us still waiting it is still early in the process yet think these next 10 days will be busy … is all so maddening
I'm in the same boat as you. I had high hopes for that site, but also assumed they'd be swamped due to low #s of apps the last few years.
Sorry we were both rejects. Hope you get good news soon! :highfive:

VA Connecticut Healthcare System (West Haven VA) personalized e-mail invitation for interview 12/2 (SMI track); date offered was 1/9 (but I am going to ask about alternates).

I also received an invitation from the May Institute today via unpersonalized e-mail. I received separate e-mails for both the Pediatric Services and Behavioral Health Specialty tracks.
They requested I rank order preference for the following dates: Jan. 7, Jan. 15, Jan. 23 and they will confirm interview dates by Dec. 11.

Only my 2nd interview (plus a wait-list, whatever that means) but I still feel much better! Hope everyone gets lots of good news soon!

Looks like a rejection for me from the May Institute. I haven't heard anything from them.

Do you mind sharing what track you applied for north texas?

UAlbany CC was recently APA accredited which explains the increase in applications.

Awwww I'm sorry. I still haven't received anything from them. I'm getting antsy over here.
aw thanks! I'm just scared because that was one of the places I really match at, but there must have been something that I didn't have! I applied to 17 sites and all I heard was this one damn rejection! On the bright side, you weren't rejected from the May Institute yet! 🙂 Hope you get an interview!!!

Aww man! But you are right, there are many others and that is obviously not where we are meant to be! Good luck to you too!

Personalized email from University of Rochester Medical Center Adult Track, interview dates 12/17, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28

Personalized e-mail to the Child Clinical and Pediatric Psychology Internship at University of Louisville School of Medicine. Interview dates held on 1/6 and 1/10.

VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center: mass e-mail invitation for interview 12/2; open house dates on 1/6, 1/9, 1/13, and 1/15.

what a crazy day !

Rejection from Marin County Human Health Services via personal-mail

Interview invite at Miami Children's Hospital via mass email. Open house on 1/13 and 1/14!
ditto!

Another update: University of Oklahoma generic rejection e-mail, then a few hours later received a "you're still under consideration but not invited for an interview" e-mail... kinda confusing

Only one interview so far and two rejections (and several probable rejections bc interviews have already been extended and start this week at a few more of my sites). If we are supposed to hear around the 15th of December, I have a lot more sites to hear from. I am starting to feel a bit hopeless about this whole process and am already stating to think about round two. It seems like a lot of the sites I applied to seem to prefer people who go to school locally (or at least that's what it looks like from their list of current externs and even most of the faculty/supervisors went to local schools. I should have noticed this before). Time to practice some CBT techniques.

I forgot this info :/

The Institute for Human Adjustment at the University of Michigan and Western Youth Services interview invites via unpersonalized email 12/2

Mass email rejection from The Institute for Human Adjustment at the University of Michigan received around 6pm today.

Personal email rejection on 12/2 from Marin County Health and Human Services, Latino Family and Forensic Tracks. This is no fun 🙁

same boat here, but trying to stay optimistic... One interview, woohoo! If it helps, our program's clinical director advised us to diversify geographically and limit local apps to about 5...

Thanks. I hope we both get good new today or later this week. I have my first interview this week and since it is my only one so far, the pressure is on to do really well.:cat: Best of luck.

knew this was coming, but: personalized, kind rejection e-mail from the Minneapolis VA on 12/3. Note at the end stating that they would not provide feedback about why someone was not interviewed... interesting.

good luck to everyone today!

I see that all the tracks but neuropsychology at Massachusetts General Hospital have sent out interview invites. Has anyone heard from them, who have applied to the neuropsychology track (either invite or rejection)?

Did anyone get a rejection or interview at North Texas (Medical Track)?

I have a question about scheduling interview dates. If a site emails me with four dates to pick from, and I already have interviews on two of those four dates, do I just rank two of the dates, or is that considered rude?
