Just received a rejection from Tulane school of medicine. Hope others had better luck!

@psychrat Two of my interviews have been via facetime. The connection can be poor, so there were moments where the audio or video cut out, or I would appear froze and vice versa. This required flexibility and switching to a phone connection during one interview. After the initial fits and starts, it wasn't bad at all. I was glad I practiced and got the angle that best suited me! They also couldn't see my comfortable shoes. 🙂

I wasn't brave enough, but I spoke with a girl who interviewed there and ranked it in the middle, but got her first choice in phase I.

I got a generalized reject from Tulane, Nationwide and Pacific today. I got a personalized rejection from Astor yesterday.

I interviewed at Jesse Brown in phase I. Their training director passed away at the beginning of the semester (which I assume was a contributing factor to their late notification). I would not be surprised if that played a part in late phase II notification.

I am pretty sure Jesse Brown will be offering their spot. It is a new position not offered in previous years. I emailed the director of training listed on the APPIC directory asking for more information and I got a quick response.

Me too. This was at the top of my list too. Here is hoping for Mailman (the 2nd on my list).

I would love to hear from Mailman one way or another--once someone does I can really just shift my focus solely to the places I'm interviewing and start focusing on figuring out how I'll rank. Hard to imagine they'll notify and interview all within next week but I guess that's their plan... Children's Institute, UVM, and UCLA are the only other ones left for me to hear from now...

I received a personalized email invitation from the Institute for Multicultural Counseling and Education Services on Tuesday evening. They asked for an IN PERSON interview next Thursday, 1-4pm. I live on the East Coast and I responded to the email saying that I am very interested in their site and would love to interview with them but inquired politely if they would consider a phone or skype interview due to the short notice (one week), prohibitively high cost (over $650 for ticket and accommodation), and other commitments I cannot reschedule. They replied they only interview in person and "we wish we could work this out". So... I hope this interview goes to someone else who can attend it. I am surprised by their expectation to interview only in-person during Phase II.

Sorry, to clarify I emailed them before I submitted my application, and I got a quick response with the information I requested. I am assuming they would have said something about not offering the position at that point, so I am confident they will send out out interview invites to a lucky few sooner or later.

They were also one of the last sites to send out interview invites during phase I, so their process might just be slower than other sites.

I like to think of those moments as a future good story to tell. It's not always easy to think of it that way immediately afterwards but once you're a licensed psychologist you can reflect on this (I hesitate to say) fondly 🙂

And I attached the wrong essays to one application. I contacted the training director and told her how horrified I was and she just told me to email her the correct ones and said not to worry about it. It was actually a good interaction that I think reflected positively on her/the site. Like they don't take themselves too seriously.

Yeah...I laugh now, but I wasn't laughing till I got the rejection from the site. Basically, I emailed them and it was beautiful. If you scrolled down further, there was a second paragraph with the name of a different site....cringe

I had my phone interview with VA Nebraska this morning and I believe it went well. It was only 30 minutes and I wish I had more time.

I did not match last year, but I received an offer to interview as late as the 13th, with rank lists being due on the 18th. I am definitely expecting to hear from more sites next week. I highly recommend contacting sites that you interviewed at in phase I and asking for feedback on your interview. I did that this year and got amazing feedback that definitely helped my performance on my interview today.

Anything you'd be willing to share in terms of feedback? I find myself trying to figure out what they're looking for and speculating about the directors, site, etc. But that can be kind of crippling I think. If it's a good fit, it's a good fit... but then again I don't want to be doing this again so it goes in cycles of being practical and panicked 🙂

I'm sorry didn't post this earlier guys. On Thursday afternoon I received a phone call for an interview at MercyFirst. Very excited, because this is a site who didn't interview me in Phase I. It's one of my first choices and a superb match for my professional goals!

That brings my interview tally up to a grand total of 1, and I'm just feeling so grateful to have another shot at matching.

I'm really hoping they get back to me because I'm looking for more forensic experience. Specifically, I want to work with sex offenders and they house and treat sex offenders there. So fingers crossed! It's not a maximum security facility so, yeah, makes sense it wouldn't seem so hardcore. It sounds kinda like a jail to me, but with longer stays.
But it would be awesome if they got back to me soon because I have to go down to LA for a CAPIC interview on Monday. Would be nice to roll them in together.

Just FYI, Terminal Island does not offer sex offender treatment. Only specific BOP institutions have that treatment program. I've heard great things about the site regardless, though. Good luck to you!

I've learned that some of these sites don't do everything at once. Someone else on this thread (NFLFAN2014? ) got a call for an interview at a site (visiting mental health in FL) a few days before I did. So until you get a rejection there's still hope. Not sure of that's helpful or not.

I have to agree -- someone else on here (MatthewSF81) heard from HealthPoint before I did and others heard from Immaculata sites earlier, too. So as far as I'm concerned, it ain't over til they say it's over! (aka 3/17...)
