What's the consensus on sending "I'm ranking you #1 emails?" When do you send them, to whom, and do you also send an email to the rest of your top 5 (10?, etc).

Don't be so oblivious. If they aren't #1 don't send them spam mail. I'm ranking you highly or I'm ranking you #2 emails are worthless.
