Hey guys, I have an interview here on Dec5th, can someone please tell me how the interview went, maybe any curve ball questions they got? I am super nervous because its my first interview of the cycle and it is one of my top choices so I really want to ace it! IS 3.8 and 34!

One interview with a faculty member. No curve ball questions. There's a few standard questions that all applicants are asked…(i.e, how did you study for the MCAT), which you can find via the interview feedback tool on SDN.
Don't be nervous. Just go in with confidence and know "your story" well enough to reiterate it conversationally. This applies to all standard interviews (and MMI, to a degree).
Don't be afraid to inject some appropriate humor if it breaks the ice and allows you to feel more comfortable.

Hey there folks! Class of 17' member here. For those people getting placed "on hold," don't freak out yet if you feel strongly about this school! I was placed on hold after an interview in February this past cycle and was quite nervous, but I got the call up mid May when there tends to be a great deal of movements at other schools too (gpa 3.84, MCAT 31, couple of publications). I spoke with several classmates who also had the good fortune of being called up off the list too. I know how hard it is, but keep you patience up, roll with the flow, good luck, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I was complete ages ago. Mid July. I seriously thought I won't have any more ii this cycle, but I guess downstate was just holding my app.
Acceptances are via snail mail.
For anyone else still waiting to hear back: I spoke with the admissions office, and they said it can take up to 10 weeks for a decision after the interview. I interviewed in the first half of October and haven't heard back yet.

Yup, they told me 6-8 weeks over the phone and I got my letter exactly 8 weeks from my interview date lol. Hang in there everyone!

I got the fall grade request back in september, anyone know how likely it is to get an interview after getting one of those?

I'm thinking about withdrawing my II here. I don't have any acceptances yet, but I am OOS and the tuition cost scares me already. Anyone have thoughts or know how feasible it is to change my residency status if I were to be accepted and matriculate?

Is SUNY Downstate starting to reject pre-interview now? Is it also through snail mail or is it through email?
How does the process work though? Do I need to have an apartment, driver's license, pay taxes, etc?

drivers license, residential lease, voter registration, car registration.
The school's bursar office will have residency application, it's pretty straight forward.
I know someone who received the fall grade request email some time ago. Interestingly enough - they recieved an II yesterday. Obviously, they haven't submitted fall grades yet because the semester (at their school) has not ended yet. So, by my judgment, getting the fall grade request email should not be taken as a coup de grâce for your application to downstate.
I got the pre-interview hold until Spring email. Did anyone get this? I was wondering what is the odds of getting an II from a hold. Thanks! 🙂

Absolutely. I did send several letters at the suggestion of my pre-health adviser just to show them that I was still interested, and to fill them in on some research stuff that happened.
I received an II today 🙂 I will be interviewing mid January.
Does anyone know how many people they usually accept from those interviewed or the percent of interviewees accepted?
