Accepted!! They sent a first really short e-mail that was like "we have good news, look for another e-mail from us in a little bit." Found out first via Merlin this morning, then by that first e-mail they sent. Later on I got the full e-mail with the details of how to confirm my spot, etc.

Stats for those curious:

OOS applicant from Ohio, 35 MCAT. Interviewed 10/5. Solid extracurriculars (research, volunteer, etc.) and a strong interest in primary care which I think really helped (mother is a primary care physician, I work in a family practice office and an addiction medicine program and am interested into going into family medicine myself).

This is my top pick so far, I really loved everything about the school when I went down and it seemed like a perfect fit. A little concerned about the idea of going so far from home, but definitely at the top of my list so far. Good luck to everyone else still going through the application process here!

Not at all. I am IS with a 31 MCAT (10-11-10:V-P-B) a 3.49 Science and a 3.68 non-science. I interviewed in early August sometime. Like second week I believe.

I have been on several interviews, but this was one of my more impressive interviews. I didn't even know I could get accepted this early, so when it came in I was super stoked!

For those that have been accepted, has anyone heard when the scholarship email will be sent out? The initial acceptance email said, "A separate email with detailed information about the scholarship name, amount, terms and acceptance form and donor instructions will be sent to you in a few days."

It has only been a week, so I don't want to call and sound demanding, but I really liked Tech and am pretty sure this is where I want to go so I think that I will turn down my remaining interviews to save some money on travel cost, but I would feel more confident doing if I had the scholarship info.

If you applied regular MD as OOS and got in, I can almost guarantee that you'll get a $1000 scholarship to drop tuition to IS rates

Hmm, I haven't gotten anything yet....

I'd like to point out, though, how impressed I've been with the communication from Tech. There was a problem processing my placement fee and every person I talked to was incredibly kind, personal, and super friendly. I must have been told 'congrats' at least 5 times.

Don't give up hope! I was OOS and interviewed on November 30 last year. Got acceptance December 21. Spaces do open up. You just never know what good things will flow into your life.

For those who were wondering, since the class is expanding by 30 seats, they're adding a 4th campus for clinical rotations. It will be at Covenant (http://www.covenanthealth.org/) right here in Lubbock. They're anticipating 30 spots at Covenant.

This means that over 100 of the 180 students in the class will be staying in Lubbock for all 4 years.

I paid my spot reservation fee online... I don't believe I had any paperwork to fill out... What kind of email would you be expecting? A confirmation email that your spot is indeed reserved?

Edit: Yes! I did fill out the couple sheets they had us fill out and was told they received them!

I emailed the paperwork back and requested a response letting me know that everything was complete. They responded 🙂
