Sorry to hear about the bad interview; I'm hoping that my potentially bad one doesn't hurt either.
No big deal, im not worried. I think worst case scenario, our bad interviews will just 'wash-out' with our good interviews.
It was funny, bc they specifically told us that morning that the purpose of the interview was to gauge our communication skills and maturity ONLY.
Does anybody know if any interviewers at Tech are also on the adcom?
I asked one of my interviewers about how many people pre-match, and they guesstimated it was about 50/50 prematch to match.
I called the admissions office incognito to check the status of prematches.... and apparently MOST if not ALL the prematches have gone out. So until people start withdrawing, they will not be offering any more spots. ( they might have a very minor number left for the post 11/15 interviewees)
👎 February here we come
Thanks for doing it Gandalf. Next is calling El Paso, A&M and UTMB![]()
Well that's pretty crappyA&M is also full.
EP is nearly full.
Well that's pretty crappy
Did you ask them how many total prematches they give out? Like if they give out the full 180 prematches or if they only give say 100 (and save the rest for match) ?I called the admissions office incognito to check the status of prematches.... and apparently MOST if not ALL the prematches have gone out. Wait sorry, I'm confused.
Are you saying that Lubbock, A&M, and EP have already given out most of their pre-matches?
That's what the admissions staff said. Obviously if people decline, more will be invited.
Man that really sucks. I really don't get anything about this whole process (I haven't received any pre-matches). My interviewer at A&M literally said (and I'll quote him exactly): "I'll tell you right now, we're going to accept you. Congratulations, you're in."
Yet nothing from A&M. wtf! I hope you're having better luck than me man.

I think interviewers that say that to you are sincere. it's just that the waiting is so long it makes us second guess ourselves. hang in there miss chievous! I have faith in ya!I had the same experience with tech and galveston but nothing from them either. Its really early in the season though so although it certainly sucks we have lots of time
To anyone that has sent in the acceptance forms, did you get any kind of confirmation that they were received?
They have added more slots to the FMAT program each year. There are 9 of us MS1s currently in the program. They will open the application for the remaining 3 spots next month. I think it is very easy to get into before first year. Who knows how it will play out for the remaining 3 openings? For the FMAT, Dr. Jones basically told me that anyone who wanted to be a part of it could. They accept up to 15 students, but they have never maxed out. They use the FMAT to try to lure some top applicants to their school. Some get accepted to Tech only, while some (the top applicants they are trying to lure) get accepted to Tech & FMAT. But the program doesn't start until the summer between ms1 and ms2. So anyone at Tech in their first year can get into the program (bc there has always been extra seats in the past).
It is actually surprising, bc I initially thought that the program was competitive and hard to get into. But (so far) it appears as though if you want to be a part of it, you get to as long as you get accepted to Tech.
Did anyone who was notified of a scholarship in the initial acceptance email receive the follow up email with the terms of the scholarship?
I still haven't received anything and I wonder if it would be inappropriate to call them.

I tried starting the business school app but ran into some info I don't have (an R#? and a few other things). I called to ask, but they told be it was due in the spring so I've put it on hold. From their responses, it seems like they hadn't begun addressing those questions. They're entirely in application/ acceptance mode (for which I don't blame them). I'll take a look at it again today and maybe we can figure things out together.
Sorry to post so much today, but I visited Lubbock over the break and it's starting to feel real. Does anyone know which parts of town are safest? I've heard that the center of town and the east side can be rough.
It was on Dec. 11th last year. Not sure about this year.Anyone know when the next round of prematch offers are coming out?
I believe that the last interview date is still supposed to be next Friday, Dec. 13th. At this point, I believe that pretty much all of the II's have gone out since it's so soonAnyone know if TX Tech Lubbock is still sending out interviews? And their last interview date?

In past years, they've added some extra January dates, but this year they added some extra Wednesday dates earlier on so they may not need to do that
Of course, medical students are usually last to know information like this so it may be worth a quick phone call to admissions!

I received an II via email on 11/26. The only available date was 12/6.
