3.71 cGPA, 3.84 sGPA - penn state (3 credits with an A for an English class at a cc do I include that in the calculation?)
PA resident

Two years as a TA for economics - includes tutoring
~200 hours patient care for nursing clinicals (nursing homes and oncology unit)
-includes OR observation for spinal surgery, got to observe IV team and saw a central line insertion, and also saw a bronchoscopy done on a cancer patient
~500 hours as a pharmacy tech

-Active membership in Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-medical honor society (limited time frame but I did the best I could before leaving campus and graduating)
-Small amount of volunteer work with the Red Cross
-volunteer work with a no-kill dog rescue
-member of the pep band for psu basketball (1 year)

I'm in the process of getting some shadowing done. I have a physician mentor at Penn State Hershey.
Also in the process of getting experience as a hospital volunteer (Einstein and a local hospital)

For what it's worth: PTCB certified
Also have shadowed a clinical pharmacist at Jefferson - got some clinical experience at a free clinic

Also, a joke of a research project that last four months involving plant development.

Basically, to have a chance here, what should I aim for on the MCAT and should I do anything else to improve what I already have accomplished?

Really???? You posted this everywhere...not cool. I would suggest that you will get a lot more constructive feedback if you make a thread in the What are my Chances sub-forum. You can even ask about specific schools in your thread. 🙄

Thank you for the insight that certainly makes me feel a little more confident, I have had pure silence since getting two interviews early in the season and WF is my number one.
 
Anyone else having trouble accessing the status page? I can log in and get to the status page, but the field where it's supposed to say my status (i.e. "you're application has been reviewed") is completely blank, as is the "applying for" section. Please tell me someone else is having this issue too?

There should have been two email, the first one containing the link to the status page.
 
the first email was BEFORE you had received a secondary....
 
I just wanted to pop by quickly and say Irene in the admission office is really nice! I've emailed her a couple time about different hiccups for my application and she has been both helpful and wickedly prompt! 🙂 So if you have some situation you definitely shouldn't hesitate to consult with her.

Ahaha no I just am close friends with a Bostonian so her turn of phrase has rubbed off on me. :laugh: I'm a Portlandian!

Just got the old "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March.* If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." status change (complete 10/1).

Has anyone here come out of this status change with an II?

I've had that status for a while. Is it bad?
 
In last year's thread, lots of people with that status got an II.

Isn't that the default status for being complete? If lots of people with that status got interviewed I think it's because everyone has this status.

There was another status prior to this one...something along the lines of everything being received and 1-2 weeks for review... there a few instances of it this year.

I'm just happy something has changed! Now I'll spend the next few hours analyzing what it means ! :laugh:

My guess is that one means you're under review and another is that you've been reviewed and processed in some way. No bit deal; the waiting game continues.
 
II!!!! I was out of town the past 2 days...just browsing through my e-mail and see a pre-secondary rejection from Vandy (boo), but also saw the II from Wake Forest!! So stoked!! Really can't believe it 🙂

I believe everyone gets this status. I had it, and I got an II by e-mail 2 days ago. Hope that helps 🙂

Thanks so much! This is definitely an unexpected surprise 🙂. Complete 7/31 and I believe I received the status at that time, or shortly thereafter, and have had it until now! So don't be alarmed if you have it for a while. Best of luck!
 
I never received an email after my AMCAS was verified 2 weeks ago. Are they not sending out emails before the secondary link this year?
 
I went on the secondary page to see if there might be any indication of my status and noticed question marks inserted into my essays where apostrophes should have been. Did this happen to anyone else? Is it some sort of glitch? I'm pretty sure I copied into Notepad before uploading.

Same thing happened to me when I looked at my app in the review page before submitting and when I went back to my essays that I pasted into the text box, every ' had become a ? so I had to manually change them back and then when I reviewed it again, it was fine. So yes, unfortunately it was a glitch but the adcoms must be aware of this so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Guess I'm late to this party, but I just submitted my secondary 🙂

In case future SDNers are curious, it seems Wake Forest waits for your MCAT scores (even retakes) before sending secondaries.

9/11 AMCAS verified
10/1 MCAT score released
10/9 Wake Forest secondary received
10/9 Secondary submitted

I'm OOS (no NC ties besides prev work experience), nontrad, LizzyM score 65.
 
Complete since July 31, nothing but silence since. Anyone know if this is a rejection or are they just a methodical mystery?

II! First MD interview and at one of my top choices!

3.37 cGPA, 3.40 sGAP (but with straight A's for the last 2.5 years), and 34 MCAT
ORM, OOS

Also, I was complete second week of September.

I'm curious about this as well, OOS, complete since July, similar stats (slightly lower). Really thought I had a good chance here.

I was complete in July, also OOS. I got an II just a few days ago. Hope is not lost!
 
Possibly a big day tomorrow for those who interviewed in September!

I remember them saying mid October. And last years forum confirms this with people receiving emails on the 15th. Some people also checked their status online... But I can't figure out where.

The first email we received right after submitting the primary app but before the secondary was sent has a link to check the status.

You can check your status using this link. Not sure if admissions decisions will be released here too. I'm not sure if this link is specific, I got it from an email that they sent me a while back. Best of luck!

Yep! I know for my interview they said they'd actually decide on 9/25 but wouldn't tell us anything until 10/15. So, hopefully we'll get some good news today! *fingers crossed*
