For the Woodhull dates, did you actually mean 12/17 and 12/19... Because that's super soon! Haven't heard either way from them yet!!

I think they are staggering their invitations and offering different dates. I read that someone was invited a few days ago (maybe Friday?), then I got an invitation earlier this evening with 12/19, 1/4 and 1/23 as interview options.

Well, tomorrow is another day....

So far: 4 invites and 6 rejections.
Still waiting on:
Napa State Hospital
Colorado MH Institute - Pueblo
Miss State Hospital
FMC Lexington
UTenn Health Sciences Center

Wishing everyone a day full of good news tomorrow! And please wish for me to have enough cognitive functioning left to get the rest of my term paper written LOL. This has been a draining semester!

StellaBlue--I'm waiting on Napa and Colorado MH Institute - Pueblo too! Maybe I'll catch you at an interview! Don't you have Wisconsin DOC with me?

To All -- We're in the home stretch!! Early congratulations to everyone with an inbox FULL of invites!!! Hope you saved up for all the travel you'll be doing! Nite! xoxo L.M.PsyD 😛

For those of you applying to forensic-related sites, approximately how many face-to-face ASSESSMENT hours did you submit at the time of your applications?

I will likely be applying for internship next year. I took on a voluntary practicum to accrue more assessment hours (as they were woefully lacking). Due to some logistical issues with the site mid-way through the semester, my cases dwindled and they've been slow to pick back up (although I am starting to gain more cases again recently). I've been contemplating taking on a few therapy cases so as not to twiddle my thumbs as much, but I also do not want to fill my hours with therapy clients if my assessment caseload could pick up again (particularly if I need to focus on even more hours this next semester). So, basically, I'm trying to determine where I'm at in comparison to those of you receiving interviews to inform my best course of action.

I have about 390 face to face assessment, about 80% are in forensic rotations. Notably, about 60% were with adolescents and I have done well with forensic sites. So, I don't think adult forensic sites worry about the adult/adolescent ratio as much as the VA would for example. The BOP training director came to our program and I met with him. He told me they were looking for solid assessment and intervention hours in a correctional/forensic setting. So, a clear commitment to forensic work. They are looking for individuals who can handle crises well and relate to staff and patients well (so team player, egalitarian, multifacted). Also, I have a friend from my lab who works at the BOP, and he advised me to focus more on the TYPE of assessment experience I had. So, e.g., make sure I had administered things like SIRS-2, M-FAST, HCR, and tons of MMPIs. I was able to do some of that and bolstered my MMPI experience last year. In reality, most BOP jobs are as staff psychologists, not as forensic examiners though, so not sure how much they focus on the ration of ax/tx. Hope some of that helps!

Waiting on FMC-Devens and Colorado-Pueblo too. I didn't apply but heard good things about Wisconsin DOC and Napa State. Good luck everyone! :luck:

Email invite to Bexar and phone contact for Clifford yesterday.

2 rejections today:

Columbia U/NY Presbyterian, adult track (was expecting this as interview offers went out several weeks ago)

Trinitas, adult track (bummed, but they said they got more than 180 apps for 4 slots...😱)
This one went to my spam folder. Just above an email with the subject "shoulder to cry on" ...

Boo!

👎(

And... just as I was typing this, got a call with an interview invite to MHA Westchester, Tarrytown, NY, adult track. Interview dates were 1/4, 1/7, 1/10, 1/15. Finally, a respite from the rejections!

Applied to Tarrytown too! Keeping fingers crossed!

Just got a phone call inviting me to interview at the Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) for January 8th. I'm very excited.

6 interviews, 2 rejections, 1 wait-list, and 6 still left to hear back from

Hope everyone is staying busy and distracted!!

That is awesome! Congrats! I am waiting to hear from WJCS....

I received an invitation for BMC today for 1/3. Does anyone know the other dates they are offering interviews?

I know that one of my cohort members interviewed there in late November. That's all, hope it's helpful.

One of my cohort members also received an interview invite at Napa State late this last (12/12/12) evening. I do not know the dates or anything further.

Has anyone else heard from them re: interviews? Trying to determine whether they are doing a rolling invite or not.

Are you referring to the University of Louisville School of Medicine? I am curious about this as well...

Trying to stay positive here. I know it only takes one good interview to match. I'm sitting here with 2 interviews, 6 rejections and still haven't heard from 7 sites. All but two of these 7 sites have sent out invitations, so I'm not anticipating invitations from the majority of the 7 remaining sites. My cohort has some mixed results. Of the 8 of us applying, one has no interviews, one has one interview, a few have 5 or 6 and a few have between 9 and 10. Good luck to all that are swimming in interviews as well as those of us who are disappointed by the lack of interviews.

PhDMiss2014-
You're right- all it takes is one good interview.
I didnt match last year (didnt go through phase two, withdrew).. and only had 1 interview.
This year, I have 6-- and I know it'll work out. From my perspective, not much changed. I changed a few sentences in my essays, made tons of progress on my dissertation, etc. In the end, it'll be fine- whether in phase 1, II, or next year. Regardless of what happens, it'll work out for the best and be worth it.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I know it will work out for the best in the end. I'll put forth my best efforts at my two interviews and maybe, just maybe, I'll be one of the 50% of people that match with only a few interviews. If not, then I'll be back next year with knowledge gained through this whole process.

Nine interviews, two rejections, and still waiting to hear from Bellevue (Adult) and St Luke's Roosevelt. I am so, so sick of constantly checking e-mails and voicemails, yet I find myself unable to stop without these final two answers... dear lord, let it be over soon!

Any word from Institute of Living's CBT track? Anyone? Bueller?

That is a really great attitude to have. I only had one interview last year and didn't match, and at the time I thought I was the end of the world. Now I think it is so much more for the better, because going in for the 2nd time I know so much more about the process. I'm up to 4 interviews and still have a good number of sites to hear from. It didn't seem like it would make a difference, but a year more of experience apparently really did.

+1
For me, having more supervision hours, dissertation progress, and other personal life intangibles have helped dramatically.
If nothing else, I know that the 6 places I have interviews with (1 med school, 4 VA's, and 1 backup) will fit me a lot better than the place where I got the interview last year. By the way, MsPhd2014, I messed up and screwed the pooch on that interview-- told them I liked research at a non-research friendly facility. Guess why I didnt match? Anyways, worst case scenario- it's still going to be fine, and potentially MUCH MUCH better, as has been the case for me. 🙂

VA Maine Healthcare System interview (general internship) - personalized email; 😍
dates: Friday, December 21, Tuesday, January 8, Friday, January 11, Tuesday, January 15, Tuesday, January 22, Friday, January 25
Me too! This is one of my fave sites and I'm very excited!!!

Hello,

I am sadly unable to make it to the January 11th Indiana University School of Medicine interview date (I had indicated a preference for January 14 within 40 minutes of the e-mail invitation, but that date was already full!).

Would anyone who is scheduled for a January 14th interview at IUSOM be willing to switch with me?

I know it is a long shot as it seems that most interviews are being scheduled for Fridays, but I would hate to forfeit the interview.

Please let me know. Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Just wanted to add that I got a generic e-mail invite to interview at the St. Louis VAMC yesterday. I know that they sent out invites on Friday, so I thought it might be helpful for anyone else still waiting to hear. Woo, this waiting game is almost over!!

Yep 12/17, 12/19. Very short. But I have friends who have received invites and scheduled for later in January.

Eastern Health- Adult Track (Newfoundland, Canada): Personalized phone call and email, various interview dates

Millard Health (Edmonton, Alberta): Personalized email stating they will not be taking on any interns this year

...waiting to hear on 4 more

Has anyone received a rejection from Nova Scotia Capital District Health Authority? I see they sent out the invites....🙁

Finally heard back from Emory via mass email (general track). I guess we can call what they sent me a "waitlist" for brevity's sake. I didn't make the cut to interview, but they will be ranking me and have invited me to rank them as well when the time comes. That's fair. LoL.

Rise and shine, doctors!!!! Notification home stretch...ready. Set. Go!

So, I called and spoke to the woman in charge of the applications. She told me that I am waitlisted and that is why I haven't heard back yet. Pleasant conversation, but said not to get my hopes up.

I'm thinking if you have not heard either way, this may also be the case for you. I'd suggest you call just to get some clarification.

I do have Wisconsin DOC! I'm going on Jan 23rd, in Madison. What about you?

Lincoln Hill School for Boys
Harvard/ Boston Children's (I know they sent out rejections...anyone receive an interview)
Houston ISD
Virginia Beach Public Schools (I know they sent out acceptances, but have not seen any rejections)
Help Group

5 interviews at 3 different sites..........

Eastern Kansas VA Healthcare has two sites, Leavenworth and Topeaka. Yesterday I received a rejection from Topeka 🙁, but today I received an email that Leavenworth's interviews are full, but they want to rank me based on my application 🙂 Another site ranked me last year on application only, and while I didn't match there, I know others who did, so it's still possible!

Still waiting on 13!

I just wanted to throw this out there. I was at an interview on 12/10 at the Milwaukee VA, and I met some of the most wonderful applicants. I wasn't expecting everyone to be so warm and friendly. It is such a wonderful thing to see that even though we were competing for the same position no one acted like it. If any of you are on here I just wanted you to know! 🙂

I'm gonna be interviewing in Miami on the 23 so I'm going on the 10th. Good Luck!! Home stretch! So ready to finish my notifications already! Sheesh.

Very nice general email invitation from FMC-Devens. I really wasn't expecting this, so I am thrilled. 😀 I am still baffled by the BOPs. I can't predict these at all. Good luck to everyone today.

Here are the dates:

Monday, January 7th

Friday, January 11th

Monday, January 14th

Friday, January 18th

Friday, January 25th

Monday, January 28th

Washburn Center for Children in Minneapolis, MN invitation to interview!!

Whew, I needed this after receiving several rejections. Dates are Jan 3rd, 8th, 9th, and 15th, various times.

Question: The person that sent me an email appears to be a "program support specialist" but it said "on behalf of Dr. ____", I'm nervous about addressing it to the wrong person. It doesn't seem as if she should be addressed Dr. ____ as her signature doesn't note that she is one. Is "Ms. _____" sufficient?

I'm probably WAYYYY over thinking this.

That happened to me last year. I ranked them last.
It's to ensure that they don't go into Round 2.

Hang in there. It is so true that all it takes as one. A quick story...Last year, a good friend of mine had a snafu with her APPI and only had one interview and it was at a tough VA. She was from another PhD program and in our practica a few of our applicants had 8-10 interviews. She came to work as they flew around the country. Everyone was afraid to say anything. Through it all, she remained so positive and kept saying - "all ya need is one." The day before match she was doing great but it eventually got the best of her, we allowed her a few libations at lunch and sent her home early. Then she matched. She was such a great example of maintaining a positive attitude. Her advice to me was: FIT. Look at what you have and what they want, and assess based on fit and that's it. I think I benefited from a lot of lab members who went before me giving me their thoughts on that.

Best of luck - I am hoping those remaining ones turn into invites! :luck:

Rejected from Emory, General and Trauma track (non-personalized). That one hurt, as it was one of my top sites.

****ing 7 rejections in a row.

Now I am at:
4 interviews, 9 rejections, 6 to hear from

Hoping that these remaining ones turn into invites :xf: and here's believing you will rock the 4 you have!!! 🙂

Generic email Invite to Emory (General Track) received today. Interview dates in Jan (4, 8, 10, 15, and 23). This was a welcome surprise!

Just got an email invite from Roudebush VA in Indianapolis. It wasn't actually addressed to anyone, it just said Congratulations! They only gave one interview day 1/11/12 from 10-4 and give the option for a phone interview should you not be able to make it.

Thank god this waiting game is almost over!
