So after 5pm, is it a safe bet that you will not receive any sort of interview notification either good or bad? Thank you, everyone, for all your helpful advice and positive attitude during this process.

Sometimes life happens, so sites may miss their notification date, but hopefully they can get back to applicants as soon as is reasonably possible.

Same here. Sigh. First response and first rejection. And it came in the middle of the day when I was between clients. I guess that's what I get for obsessively checking email. 🙂
 
Hey guys I'm new here, but I have been lurking for awhile. I have a question is anybody here applying to Frontier Health Services? If so, how did you get the brochure? I have been searching their site, and now I am too late to email them for information. Would you just use what is on the APPIC description?

I'm not applying there. However, I have applied to some sites that did not have a link to a brochure and I either could not find it on their website or they had no website listed. In those instances, I just used what was on APPIC...
 
I notice that Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics is on the list, someone received a phone invite today....do I assume from that that all invitations have been extended or is there still hope for that site?
 
After three years of lurking and learning on this site, it's my turn to post. Thank you for all of the gray hairs and vicarious trauma. It paid off when it culminated in my not procrastinating. 🙂

I tried to find something from them also but could not either.
 
18 Applications have gone out today with several more going out over the next week. Now I sweat bullets! One thing that surprised me was how many sites did not ask for supplemental materials. I really thought hard about which assessment reports to use but many sites don't seem to want them. Curious!

I am wondering the same thing! If they are making phone calls, perhaps some will come tomorrow?

Hey all, I have a quick question-

A friend of mine just contacted me (kinda freaking out) because they tried to list a designation this morning for a site with a 15th deadline, and it is no longer listed. Typically, that means that the site's deadline has passed, but today is the site's deadline. We both searched all the internship brochure, website and other sources of info and nothing states a midnight or morning deadline... so what's up? Should she contact appic? This site is one of their top choices, and they were being a little perfectionistic about their app, which is why they were submitting it kinda last minute.

Anybody have any ideas of what my friend could or should do?

I've been lurking this whole time but saw your post and felt the need to register and respond. This has happened to me twice and both times I contacted the training directors who apologized for the mistake and reopened the portal. One of those times was this morning and I'm assuming we're talking about the same site (feel free to private message me to verify). If so, they are now accepting applications. My advice is to always contact the director!
 
Submitted my last app today - number 20. I really hope that's the last time I go through that experience! Sending good thoughts to all others who are done applying as well as those not yet finished submitting all applications!
 
Interview invite by phone for the Columbia/NY Presbyterian adult track program on 11/12 - it sounds like this will be a preliminary "first round" interview, since I was told on the phone that I may be invited for a second meeting with the training director at a later date. The interview is next week, eep!

my buddy also got a rejection email from rush 11/13 for the health track, so it could be either

As in they would require you to travel out there a second time for a site visit, or would one of the two be by phone? If the former, then that's just brutal.

Congrats, though, on the interview 🙂

As in two separate site visits (although I didn't ask about the possibility of doing a phone interview) - I would grumble, but it seems like they must do this every year, and I'll take what I can get!

I got a phone invite from Children's Mercy today and their website says they stop notifying on the 20th of November. There's still hope, so don't give up 🙂
 
For those who have heard from UNC School of Medicine, which tracks to you apply for?

Yes, I second the question about which UNC track interviews went out for (or was it all of them?). I applied to child clinical and am wondering if there is still hope!

Congrats to those of you who got interviews at Children's Mercy! Thanks for pointing out the deadline for interview notification, I hadn't noticed that on their website and I appreciate knowing that there is still a little hope!

It is just wild to have submitted all of my internship applications. this is something i have been stressing about for 5+ years, what a milestone for all of us! good luck to everyone!!!

Oof... one of my good friends applied to that track, and as far as I know, hasn't heard anything. I... won't mention anything. 🙂.

I wish I knew how many people were interviewing at each place. I know APPIC tells you the total number of interviewees at each site (at least for the previous three years), but I wish they broke it down by track. Oh well.
 
I got an email invitation to the Tennessee Internship Consortium for 1/4 or 1/7.
 
Personalized Rejection e-mail University of Arkansas Medical Sciences -Adult Track 🙁... Feeling crappy right now would have been nice to start with an interview...blech... Oh well 🙁

Wow, that's terrible. I feel like APPIC should step in an put a stop to the practice of requiring applicants to travel to your site twice. I'm sure that people are willing to go there twice, since everyone's nervous enough about not matching, but that seems incredibly disrespectful to students who have limited travel time and money.

Just like last year, I'm disgusted by the number of sites that have sent out invites, but haven't bothered to send out any rejections. I wish that APPIC had firmer guidelines for sites that invite people fairly early, and then drag their feet on sending rejections until the absolute last minute. Duke SOM, I am looking at you.
 
psychRA, has Duke sent any notifications? I haven't seen anything yet and it's not on the list on the first page.

Not that I know of, but at least for the last few years, I've heard that they're known for sending rejections way after their invites, if they send rejections at all.
 
ARGHHHHHH typos! teeny tiny typos. i read these cover letters so. many. times. and so did my GF. in word. in text edit. in pdf. and yet only after they had been am i picking up on them. argh!!
