This concerns me too. I applied there and have not heard news either way. I submitted on 11/5, which was the deadline.

Huh. I am concerned, although that makes three applicants with no news just among those of us checking SDN at the moment, so maybe they have one last batch of rejections or (hopefully) invitations to send out tomorrow? Very odd.

Anyone who does hear from Bay Pines tomorrow, please send updates!

Children's National Medical Center has been added to the interview invite list but in their brochure it says interviews will not be extended until after December 15....

anyone else apply there and confused by this?

I received a phone call invite from them on Wed, and received confirmation of my interview date in an email yesterday. They might be doing rolling invites?

Judging by last year's thread, it looks like there was a big surge post-Thanksgiving, then another big surge around Dec. 9th. Here's hoping we don't have to suffer through next week in silence!

I would imagine that the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy will push those surges back a week or so.

6 invites, 2 rejections. Waiting to hear back from 12 others. Much better than last year. For anyone wondering what happens if you don't match and if you will survive - I can say I'm glad I didn't match last year.

Personalized email (because they specifically mention faculty who are good matches to interview with) and by rolling I meant that they say that they email people for interviews on a rolling basis. They also say the order you get your email does not matter with how much they prefer you or not. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really hoping to become a commissioned officer. I tried last year via HPSP but didn't make the cut, but here's hoping that all goes well this time around. And actually, the commitment is 8 years I believe -- four active and four reserve, if I remember correctly; I'm looking forward to shipping out ASAP!

2 interview invites, no rejections (but one anticipated because others have received invites). Applied to 20 sites, so 18 to go. Trying to manage my anxiety by staying off this site and working on my dissertation. Obviously not working...
