I had a question if you guys don't mind. I will be out of the country for most of July. Should I include an international phone number on the alternate form or should I just include my email and say that I always check my email and they should correspond with me via email? Thanks.

I'd include both the phone # & email, and just explain what you've said. I'd also maybe include a domestic phone # (perhaps a parent/partner/someone you trust) with an explanation that that person will pass the news on to you - better safe than sorry, and I don't know how likely they are to call an international number. I don't know if there's enough space on the form (can't remember what it looks like), but otherwise, you can also just include that info in an email to admissions.

Was offered a seat by phone late last week. Declined yesterday. I think it's a great school for the right person, but the right person probably wasn't me. Best wishes to whoever goes.
 
anyone else having trouble accessing the study inventory survey? it opens but never loads, regardless of using chrome or safari.
 
Just accepted from HFS today! I was never on an alternate list. I got a phone call but missed it and had to call back. I'm currently holding a place at a different SUNY and need to decide if I want to stay in the city or not! Tough choice.

Looks like it since the couple people on here who where never put on alternate list with the rest of us were instead accepted... The question though is if they rejected people from the HFS list as well. If they did also reject, then alternate list is more just neutral news since it means you weren't high enough on the list for a flat out acceptance, but you made it through the last cut. People tend to not share when they are rejected, so it is possible that they cut out some people before forming the alternate list.

Naw, I did receive an email confirming their retrieval of my alternate response form. You are probably accepted. I've had a few friends who got emails about background checks and subsequently were offered positions in the days following.

They emailed you back when you sent in the alternate list response form? I sent it in on Saturday and never heard anything..

Yea, I returned the slip on Tuesday and received their confirmation this afternoon. I'm sure they'll get to you soon enough. Besides, it's the HFS that's gotten all the action up to date.

I received "message 2 of 2" that contained a password but not the first one that supposedly includes my username for the checklist 😵 I checked spam box too.
 
I received both my login username and the password, in a separate message, today. I'm guessing everyone on the alternative list who sent in the alternative response form received the same. Or does it mean I am already accepted?

I responded to the alternate list email saying that I want to withdraw from consideration and I still got the two login emails so it seems they sent them to everyone

Definitely does not mean you are accepted, its just the login so you can go to your checklist for getting all of the forms in.

For the BLS certification, do we have to complete the BLS online course as well as the in-person classes/skill sessions at testing centers?
 
First post. I interviewed December, HFS in Feb and Moved to Alternate List a few weeks ago. AMCAS application for 2016 cycle open up tomorrow. Do we just re-apply for the upcoming cycle?

If you are planning on just reapplying if you don't get into Downstate this cycle then yeah, I don't think there's any problem with submitting the app for the new cycle while still waiting to hear from Downstate. That is what I am doing. If you end up getting into Downstate later this summer, you will just have to withdraw your new app and the money will have been wasted. But better to be safe and plan for the worst.

You can definitely stay on the waitlist while simultaneously reapplying.

I'm not sure which link you're referring to, but from their accepted students requirements page:
"Copies (both sides) of the signed certification card should be submitted to Student Admissions by July 1, 2015.
Note: The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course is the only course accepted, as it is intended for those who provide health care to patients in a variety of settings." Do u guys think it's too late to send in a LOI to admissions? I am currently on the alternative list and accepted in another SUNY. I will most likely withdraw from the other if accepted.
 
Does anyone know what address we're supposed to forward our transcripts to? Also is the BLS for healthcare providers course inclusive of AHA CPR verification?

I did my study styles inventory thing a week ago and never got a check. Also no idea about the financial literacy. And does anybody know where to get the New York state residency app form?
