@juice31

Yeah a lot of my EC's are really nothing earth shattering or unusual. I really hope we hear something soon! I know it's good to be patient but I really need a win right now 🙁

I know what you mean. I am graduating this weekend without much to tell friends and family about future plans. At least there is still time!

I am siked I found this thread. I am sure most of you have seen me post in other threads. I was complete at most of my schools around mid-October but have not heard anything back from any DO school (no rejection, no II, NO NOTHING 🙂). I do have one MD II which I received less than a week after being complete at the school which was very odd to me. Stats: 3.45 cGPA, 3.35 sGPA, 27 MCAT.

I just sent in eight new apps to different schools yesterday hoping for something good to come of it but its probably just a waste of money at this point.

@NBLogical it looks like we are in the same boat as regards to timeline. Have you heard anything more from schools yet? I am hoping we all get some good news here soon!
@tunicaexterna
I have just setup my interview with CUSOM next week and ACOM in Jan. I received the II's 11/19 and 12/7 respectively.
Glad to hear we're all in the same boat together!
Who brought lemons to fight scurvy?

507 MCAT, pre-reqs sGPA 3.96 cGPA3.74 (Bachelor cGPA from country of my origin 3.1), roughly 400 hours of volunteering.
Submitted last secondaries Dec. 1st. After reading this thread (very helpful BTW) I realized that I should be patient and probably wait for IIs in mid-late January, not earlier.
Hopefully schools will interview in Jan-Feb for some spots left and not just for wait-list spots. Oh man. :cat:

I know i'll probably come off as an idiot for asking this..but if I apply through AAMCAS in June of 2016, and say I am accepted..I would start classes the following Fall? Also is there any difference in this timeline between MD and DO schools?

Complete at four so far. LECOM E/B, TUNCOM, NSUCOM. Hoping to hit another six within the next week but gotta finish finals now. Planning on NYITCOM, PCOM, PCOMGA, Rowan, CCOM, AZCOM.
510/3.7ish. Vol+Res >400hrs each. Shadowing ~100hrs.

You have good stats. If you applied earlier you would've had your pick early.

Was Rowan your only acceptance? If not, why'd you choose them?

I have the same stats as you, and no, I got into 5 schools, and cancelled my other interviews once I got into RowanSOM. I got accepted into LECOM-E, LECOM-B, CCOM, CUSOM, and RowanSOM. I only applied to 9 schools, and got another II at KCOM (which I cancelled.) I applied mostly on the eastern coast (I didn't want to be too far from home.)

I chose Rowan because of the in-state tuition (only $35k,) plenty of research opportunities, close to home, pass/fail grading, no mandatory lectures, good rotations, friends in the area, good match list etc. The list goes on and on. I was going to choose CCOM but I couldn't ignore the fact that the tuition for that school was $63k a year.

I started to get burned out after a couple completed secondaries, and perhaps started to write generic answers to essay questions to PCOM and NSUCOM. I believe that's why I haven't been extended a II yet (that, plus I have no ties to PA or FL.) Make sure you personalize your secondary answers to the school you're applying to. I believe that makes a big difference, and definitely helped me get into the schools I've gotten accepted into.

AMCAS Submitted 11/4. 4 Secondaries Completed. 15 additional II to be submitted in the next 2wks. Trying to stay hopeful and motivated!

Just realized that one of my work experiences said that I was working there for three years when I actually only worked there like two months. I emailed all of the schools. Will this cause me any problems for such a small mistake?

So I have a small predicament. Maybe one of you or @Goro can help me.
I have already been accepted to LECOM and Touro-NV and have submitted my deposit to LECOM.
When I started this application cycle, I had very low self-esteem and thought that my cGPA: 3.7, sGPA:3.5, MCATs of 26 and (subsequently) 507 (~29/30) could only get me into LUCOM. After reading many of these threads, it seems that, I might have actually been competitive for some of the more competitive schools, like CCOM and AZCOM, schools with research and academic opportunities that really interest me. I am preparing to submit secondaries to Rowan, CCOM, AZCOM, and Touro-NY.
I was wondering what your thoughts would be for an applicant like me being complete late November for some of these more competitive schools. I didn't really like my experiences at either LECOM or Touro-NV and think I would be a better fit at some of the older schools with more research opportunities. If it makes a difference, I am white and an applicant from CA who totally doesn't mind losing his deposit to LECOM for any of the 4 schools I mentioned above.
Are you looking at both Touro-NY campuses? Yeah and I can definitely mirror your sentiments about a strange feeling from TUNCOM. It was perhaps...too laid back for me?

I had a mistake in mine and still got interviews! I mistyped a date and it looked like I added a year of volunteering.

A couple schools have emailed me telling me that they updated my file. Hopefully it didn't have much effect on my chances in the past couple of months.

Touro Harlem decided to send me a secondary just now. Over 4 weeks since I applied to receive a secondary.

Should I complete their $200 dollar secondary when it's almost January?

Completed secondaries mid to late Nov.
Applied broadly.
3.4 cGPA, 3.35 sGPA, 28 MCAT with TONS of ECs and lots of healthcare experience.

IIs at UNECOM and Campbell scheduled for Feb thus far, fingers crossed for more.
Wow! IIs already after being completed only recently? I was complete at PCOM-GA on 11/30 and have yet to hear a peep. Only secondary I was able to send due to financial concerns.

CUSOM is already saying that they're only interviewing for waitlist starting Feb...

Campbell said it was for waitlist. Not too concerned, still a lot a movement ahead. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like we get so up-in-arms about waitlists even though its still relatively early. Or maybe I just feel extremely confident in my application.

Either way, no point in stressing about it now.

I'm now complete at almost 16 schools and not 1 rejection/waitlist/interview except for my MD interview. I'm still hoping it's a good sign I don't have any rejections.

Any II updates for anyone here?

completed secondaries oct-end of november

3.7 cgpa 3.56scpa, 28

II at UNECOM mid january,
interviewed/accepted at NYIT-COM mid november

I updated my aacomas by adding another section with the correct dates. This seemed fine with all of the schools too

Do you think that helped schools notice your application?

Congrats! When were you complete at UNECOM?

I have a question regarding whether I should continue submitting secondary applications, or wait until next year and reply if I don't get in anywhere.

My AACOMAS primary was verified early/mid-September. I submitted primary applications to 1o DO schools, received secondary apps from all of them. I've submitted 4. Pre-interview reject from one, assumed pre-interview hold from two, and interviewed and waitlisted at another. MCAT 28, cGPA >3.8, sGPA >3.8, above average EC's and LOR's, per advisor.

Should I send in those final 6 secondary apps, or wait to reapply next year? I've read bad things on here about both options. When people mention that reapplicants are at a disadvantage, does this include both those who submitted primary/secondary apps, as well as those who only submitted primary apps?

Thank you!

I'm not sure! I only heard from NYIT around that time
I ended up applying to their Arkansas campus. I know it's a bit weird opening applications mid-cycle but it's decently close to home and connected to a known medical school and known university. If Liberty can manage, I'm sure NYIT and Arkansas State can do it!

Rejected from KCU today. I sort of expected it since I know they fill their class very early (I was told there were very few interviews left when I was marked 'complete'), but it still stings 🙁

I'm sorry to hear that. When were you complete?

@juice31

I was complete 11/17. My aacomas was submitted in mid october, but it took me about 1.5 weeks to get the secondary (which i prewrote), and then over 3 weeks to be marked complete.

I guess it's a bit more understandable with the later secondary. I doubt I have much chance at an interview here even though I live close. I don't even know if there are any interviews left.

@juice31

Yeah, I would agree with that. I knew KCU likes to fill their class early, and I was hoping to squeak out a II, but it wasn't to be. Things may have turned out differently if I had gotten my stuff in months earlier, but who knows?

Hey, if you haven't heard back yet you're still in the running! I wish you luck :luck:

What other schools are you waiting to hear back from?

@juice31

Right now I have radio silence from KCOM, CCOM, PCOM, UNECOM, LECOM, DMU and LMU. I got complete emails at most of these schools in late October, so I hope I hear SOMETHING soon! How about you?

Sounds like I am in the same situation as you at KCOM, Kcu, dmu, osu, lmu, marian, campbell, acom, nyit, and a couple more. The last few were recent but from KCOM to Marian I have been complete for awhile. Literally not a peep except for an MD interview.

Not sure about the others, but I can tell you that ACOM is lightning quick if you have the stats. If you've been waiting over a month it's probably because you've been ranked as a tier 2 candidate and will have to wait well into next year.

Just sent their secondary in a week ago

It's worth applying! 🙂

Heard from the school specific forum that GA-PCOM may be letting the most recent batch of interviewees know something before Christmas and that Jan. interviews will be sent out. Hoping that Nov. completees will get IIs then.

Most of my secondaries were verified right before Thanksgiving. So far I've had two interview invites and one interview wait list. What's crazy is that I got an II from PNWU two days after getting my secondary verified!
