Still awaiting the "complete" email. How long did it take for you guys to get that email? Considering contacting them about this.
 
Secondary app "arrived" 7/15, complete email on 7/28

I'm sure they are just slowing down with increased number of applications. I'd wait it out another week before you call, but that's just me.

Seems like from last year's thread, they send out IIs every month. I just got the complete email 8/6 too, so hoping next month to get some news.
 
II invite last week on 8/4, marked as complete (via email) on 8/3, OOS LizzyM roughly 70 (new MCAT makes it kind of difficult to try and convert)

Edit: I hope that I appreciate my answer for the prompt B part that asks : "has broadened your perspective of the world ". I wrote something sort of "poetic" as far how I see life and the way I relate to people and what I learned. I tend to keep my answers "objective" with real facts life experiences to back it up, but I "free styled " pretty big on that one, now I am having second thoughts :scared:.

Do ya'll think it's to late to add this school to AMCAS.
The school has such a small class size that they could easily fill it up with 3-4 interview dates. Don't know if it's worth it.
But I like the PBL portion of the curriculum.
 
Looks like next round of IIs came out around Sept. 8th last year. Sigh...patience is a virtue I suppose
 
Although this year the first round of II's came out a bit earlier than last year 😉

From the e-mail I received a few days ago, I think they mentioned that it'll be business casual! See you there 🙂
 
Do in-state applicants have to submit in-state residency forms/documentation to VTC?

Ah but my UVA and EVMS apps were just sitting in the dust until I realized I had to submit those forms to be "complete"/offered an interview 🙁

Hey guys, anyone know if VTC accepts post-secondary updates? I just got hired as a sleep tech and would like to include it in my app as it adds more clinical hours but I don't see anything on the website.

I sent an email to their admissions with an update in pdf form yesterday. They sent a confirmation email that it was added to my file.
 
so MSAR says they interview 167 OOS and 32 matriculate - i've got to believe that they accept more than 32 though right?
 
42 matriculate actually, it is the same for every class. As stated above, they must accept more than the number that ultimately matriculate just like other medical schools. Acceptances are on a rolling basis, depending on when your interview was.
 
So I'm a little late this season and am turning in this secondary today. Just wanted to see if the 500 words are mandatory. Both of my essays are around 250-300 words- I can elaborate more but don't want to sound fluffy haha
 
Because they specifically say 500-600 words I would probably get closer to that range if I were you. Don't add fluff, just outline a new essay and add what you have where it fits.

It's weird to see only one person got a II today so far, since they seem to only give IIs once a month. Maybe more just haven't posted?
 
I'm guessing Jefferson removed themselves from AMCAS? Trying to add this school to my AMCAS today but it's not there
 
they accept about 80 people, and may release more acceptances based on how many people matriculate

Not sure how accurate that is... As per their admissions timeline:

"March 30 - By AMCAS regulations, Virginia Tech Carilion issues 42 acceptances"

Idk though. I cant imagine they only issue 42 acceptances throughout the entire cycle , unless they utilize the waitlist very heavily.

That means they must issue AT LEAST that number of acceptances by that date. Here is from the same page: "The School of Medicine receives over 3000 AMCAS applications each year for 42 class seats."

42 seats means many more acceptances.
 
I submitted my primary 8/21, still haven't received any acknowledgement or secondary invite. Should I be worried?

It took them a few days to acknowledge my submission then a week to send a secondary, and that was at the start of the season (july). Id imagine they're probably really busy right now, so it may take a week or two. Im just guessing though
 
80 is what they showed us in the powerpoint when I interviewed there
 
In the optional essay, should we explain any courses we obtain a C in? Also, should we be giving them updated grades there? Thank you 🙂
