Greg Kellin (I think that's his name) sent out an email reminding sites to send their notifications no later than Dec 15th. I wonder if that has something to do the weekend/nightly emails. I imagine that sites may not be able to go through hundreds of applications during the workweek.

At least send them out Monday morning or something! Bah.

It's more likely related to the notion that many people are doing internship application review work in addition to their full clinical schedule. And usually, the TD also has to manage and incorporate review information from several different faculty members doing reviews. They need to get things off their plate just like the rest of us, and if that occurs on a Sunday evening when they can find the time, sounds fair to me.

For sure, that's what I was implying. Personally, I cannot imagine going through hundreds of apps and also doing my typical workload. I sought to provide hypotheses and light humor, not judgment. My apologies if that didn't come across.

Ah, fair enough. Every year there seem to be a lot of posts kind of disparaging programs for the times they send out invites/rejections. I just wanted to give insight as a person who has been on both sides of the fence in this process. This is a hectic process for all involved.

the email has the following dates, but I think it depends on the tracks because I was only given the choice of 4 of those dates: 1/9, 1/10, 1/11, 1/12, 1/13, 1/17, 1/18, 1/19, 1/20 (I was only offered 1/11, 1/13, 1/17, and 1/20 when I called to schedule)

Much appreciated. Last year, my supervisor was also a TD who reviewed hundreds of applications for a postdoc position. For weeks, his desk was swamped. As you said, it's hard on both sides. 🙂

Yup, I am waiting on them as well. I thought it was strange they had a Sunday date. Hopefully notifications roll out today.
