I can't comment on the interview as they're doing it different this year than they have in the past. If you want to get involved with research, you will.

They try to break up the class into segments called societies, so about 1/4 of the in each of the four. You tend to spend much of your time with only the people in your society (TBLs, PBLs, Lab groupings, some social events, etc). Tons of ways to get involved because there are so many clubs and shadowing opportunities are endless.

Upon looking into further and what I've heard is that the "live" lecture component for material don't exist in the new curriculum. So get used to and love your ipad.

Thanks for your insight - What do you mean that "live" lecture for material don't exist?

That isn't what I said. They are adding a lot more team/peer based learning. A lot more time in sim lab and in a patient care setting. (A significant increase compared to the current IFM curriculum) Your labs for histology and gross of course. And then there's the community engagement aspect.

Do you spend more time on the campus in East Falls or in the hospital (hahnemann)?

There are some medical students who live in Center City (which is the "city" of philadelphia that people often think of when they hear Philadelphia) from year one.
You can make it work because there are shuttles that will take you to and from campus. You just need to time it right, but it's really not that bad.
It depends on what kind of lifestyle you prioritize - I know the people living in center city really appreciate the city aspect, despite being a little far from the campus.

Haven't heard of any, which makes me feel like no news isn't necessarily good news here. Of course they get a huge number of applications so maybe ours just got buried and haven't been reviewed yet.

First and second years are based out of Queen Lane. But to clarify, East Falls (where the campus is located) IS in Philadelphia, just a neighborhood of it. You have the option to live wherever you want as long as you can get where you need to be. And as stated before, if you live in Center City the university provides a shuttle (around 15th and Arch if you're curious what is near there, which is a lot) to get to Queen Ln.

You could live in East Falls all four years if you wanted. The shuttle also takes you back to 15th and Arch and Hahnemann is right there. Be aware that the medical school does have clerkship sites other than Hahnemann. (This shouldn't really be a concern right now. If you have a long commute to a site they do make arrangements).
 
Is it too early to try contacting admissions if I haven't gotten an II yet? I was complete 8/1. Drexel is my top choice/dream school and I thought I was decently competitive (LM=69, cGPA=3.64, sGPA=3.59, MCAT=514) but maybe not. I've gotten IIs to osteopathic schools only thus far.

What exactly do you mean by "try contacting admissions if I haven't gotten an II yet?" As in sending them updates?

Do not do this. Drexel looks way beyond just your stats btw. (Which does, in some way, explain why they have a lower average matriculant GPA and MCAT). Naturally anyone who applied there would love an II and contacting admissions will not help your case. They received 15k applications last year, so you need to wait for them to get to yours. It's October 1st, you're not in anyway out of luck if you haven't gotten an II yet. They interview into March/April.
