Any suggestions on what to do/eat in Philly the night before the interview? (Besides interview prepping and trying to calm down nerves 😉)

Yea haven't gotten Jefferson but if I do hopefully it's over a break so I can drive from jersey haha

when it says "Once you confirm your date, you will be unable to change it in the system," does this mean we have to call the admissions office to change our interview date or what?

I was completed mid august. Nothing yet 🙁

Or maybe just put on hold to see if there are any interview spots left for us after all the IIs are sent to applicants with better stats. lol. People on other threads said that they got IIs within 1-2 weeks of submitting secondaries. All my apps were completed between 8-15 August, nothing yet. Starting to get worried.

I was complete most places late July. I've received one II, put on hold at one place, but haven't heard back from anywhere else. I'm hoping that'll change within the next week or so.

I wonder what your friends with crazy stats did wrong. You need to do something really stupid to not get accepted with these stats. wow.

Contrary to SDN philosophy, just because you don't have multiple ii's in Aug does not mean you are a terrible applicant. Adcoms can only review so many applications. I teach in a medical school (yes, teach) and I don't have an ii there yet. Does it mean that the undergrads who have ii's there are more qualified than me? Good god no.

Oh sorry, I thought that they applied during the previous cycle and didn't get any acceptances. Just a misunderstanding, don't get mad. Haha

Anyone have any information on the format of their interviews? I can't find any information on their website or emails stating whether it will be MMI vs one on one. Am i missing something?

If you click on the website link on the interview page it provides a little more info. A one on one interview with a group student interview I believe. On here there is also word of a ethics essay at the beginning of the day, idk if that is still happening since it wasn't on the provided info....

So I just received an "application complete" email, however I was marked as complete on the portal around 7/20. Anyone else experience this?

Yup. They sent me a complete email like a month after I was complete on the portal. I just looked at it and LOL'd

I just assumed we weren't supposed to get a complete email
 
About how long did it take after submitting secondary to hear back? I sent mine in on aug 22nd
 
Interviewing here as well! 🙂 Do any current students have any info about areas where students tend to live? Just want to check it out when I'm there. I can't remember if this is one of the Philly schools that is in a rougher area where students tend to live a bit of distance away or if thats Temple or SKMC lol

Unless anything has changed from last year, this is how it goes. You have four 30 minute blocks in the morning before lunch. Faculty interview, ethics essay, break, and a sit in on a class that's taking place. These can occur in any order but you'll be done around noon since that's when lunch break is. You then eat lunch with current students that apparently evaluate you and give you a tour of the school. Then you're done at 2ish i wanna say?

An overwhelming majority live in East Falls. It is close to the rougher areas of the city, but it's a nice neighborhood. You're in Philly so there are rough areas everywhere, and Germantown is the closest to the school. But, you can live in center city and take the free shuttle for students to Queen Lane from Hahnemann if you'd like.

Plenty to do in Center City. Definitely recommend Reading Terminal Market f you're in town early enough. Great places to eat are literally everywhere, just use Yelp to fine cuisine you're hungry for.

Calm yourself lol. I wasn't complete until around August 5th last year and I did not receive II's right away. September was the month where I received the most, but I got II's as late as March. Ended up with 10 with a LizzyM of around 68 so yeah, be patient 😛
