Follow up question: Does anyone know if the interview is open or closed file?
 
I was invited for an interview back in August about 3 weeks after I was complete and they never emailed me a notification. Found out by randomly checking my portal 🙁

Yep. I didn't think it was necessary to check portals, I've been notified by email for all my other interviews. Now it has me paranoid and checking all my remaining portals constantly! I contacted admissions about my contact info and they have it so I don't know what the issue is. I've actually gotten no emails from them. I even had to contact them about the link for the portal and and getting the secondary application. They are letting me come interview still, but it's late in the game now...

The earliest one is Feb 6, but honestly I don't think more than 1/2 the offers have been made so it's not the absolute worst. I'll see ya there if you choose the 6th 🙂

I kind of stopped looking after the first one (Feb 6th), but there were 3-4 dates listed and I believe they were all in February. The 6th was the only one that had only one session that day, the other dates had 2 sessions per day.

At my interview, the coordinator said they will interview between 950-1000 people, and accept 400-450 people. She also said that they do not overfill then hope enough people will choose not to matriculate, that's why they put a ton of people on the waitlist.

That is actually not true. Last year they had 799 interviews and accepted 528. I have that on good authority too.

This year, they will be conducting 950-1000 interviews.
 
Ok this might be a super dumb question, but I'm a little confused. I applied MD/MPH, but I know at Wayne the MPH gets added on between 2nd and 3rd year. So am I technically interviewing for MD/MPH, or just MD and the MPH will decide if they want me at some later date? Also, if I decide to no longer do an MPH, can I still just be admitted to regular MD and change my mind?

I've been on the waitlist since November and haven't had any sort of status update yet. :/
 
Does anyone happen to know if they release acceptances all at once in the morning, or if they just sort of trickle in throughout the day?

Really? Maybe that was only last years cycle then.....
Does your status bar on the dashboard show the original date they notified you of the waitlist or has that at least been updated each notification date?

I got the waitlist email in November, but my portal wasn't updated until December, with the December date. I'll let you know if it updates again after this round, maybe that is updated every round instead of an email.

Maybe. Whether or not we get pulled off this time, itd be nice to at least know, so I can stop checking sdn and my email until next month.
 
I got the waitlist email Dec 5 and that's what it shows on the application status page. It hasn't changed since then, and I've received no status update emails.

Oh for a world in which I knew my ranking on the list...
