I've been silently observing this wonderful thread for a while but I just can't help but congratulate you. That's wonderful news. Very happy for you. [emoji126]

People are going to get into my top choice today and I won't get to hear back for another 2 months and 6 days :'(

Another of my schools just said decisions will be Monday probably. And realistically the other two that might pipe up this month won't be til next week. I'll be randomly crying in my beer all this weekend, anyone is welcome to join me.

I'll be joining you. Was expecting to hear from three schools today. One of them announced acceptances by email but I got nada. Silence from the other two. Woe is me.

@breezy16 , @Eccesignum , @gyrfalcon : we're here to celebrate or hug it out whenever you hear. I know the waiting is THE WORST.

And to everyone else: we'll be here for you, too. Still got a very long road ahead of us with lots of twists and turns coming.

Congratulations to everyone!! It's great to see all the acceptances. The two schools I have interviewed at so far told us November sooo I am still waiting....sort of patiently

This thread is so supportive and amazing that I have to say hey 🙂
Non-trad, 28 year old. 3 year off before college, 3 year gaps after.

Applied: 28 schools
II: 4 so far: GWU (completed) NYMC, Penn State, Stony Brook coming up
Rejections: 3 (Tulane, Albany, BU)
Pre-II hold: 1 (Suny Upstate)

Heard back from GWU: I am on the waitlist 🙁

I know its early, I have 3 more II coming up, and still a lot of silence, but I am disappointed that I still am clueless if I will be actually be a med student come August.

Hoping for lots of good news for all us Non-trads!

I have been running around at work all morning and haven't had a chance to make a proper post here.

I am elated with my own acceptance and very happy for everyone else who has gotten one as well!

For those who are still waiting, don't lose hope! Try to find a way to distract yourself.

For those who have gotten news today that they didn't want to hear, it's still not over. If there are things in your control for the cycle, take care of those, if things are out of your control, try to (again) distract yourself and continue living life in the meantime.

I'm so grateful for this thread and all of the support everyone has provided each other. We are in this together and I know lots more good news is still coming our way!
 
I heard back from Dartmouth and got my first rejection today! Woo Oct 15 [emoji28]

one guy that i used to work with not only submitted amcas mid september, but also took the august MCAT and managed to get a secondary from UPitt 2 days later and an II the day after he submitted that.

what the heck, man

Don't worry too much about it. There are soooo many intangibles involved that you can just never know. You'll just drive yourself nuts 🙂
 
Apparently. And he was laughing and said "this process was so much easier than I thought" because it's his top choice so he could literally only submit one app.

Got the call an hour ago, accepting me into Loyola 2020. Was so stoked. But then had to clear the tears and stop the shakiness because i had an hour long presentation for work to do approximately 7 minutes after i got off the phone call. Congrats to all my fellow non-trad-going-to-be-doctors. And lets all keep in mind that the cycle is still young and only a very small proportion of people who will be entering the class of 2020 will be getting their acceptances today; most are yet to come.

Now time to party!
 
Time to admit the day's over. This was a rough one, even though I logically knew no calls would likely be coming. The self-talk in the back of my head still wants to tell me that maybe it means I'm not good enough. I don't know. Tomorrow starts it over.

Where do you live? I may have to come over and force you to snap out of it, likely by dragging you out to a bar and buying us some shots (whiskey? Vodka? Tequila? Rum? **** it, one of each). You've had more success, and been more supportive, than anyone on this thread and likely all of SDN. I know this day must have been rough for you, but as your fellow non-trad SDNer i simply will not let you end your day sulking, forgetting how strong of an applicant you are and all the ****ing IIs you've already received. Now snap out of it and let's get drunk and bitch about what a horrible process this is.

But i probably don't live close enough to you to do that. So i guess i won't do or say any of it...

This. 100%. I am hating hearing the sads from you, woman, you deserve better. Gonna light my rose-pink Virgin of Guadalupe candle for you. She smells terrible, but she does good work. And I'm not even Catholic.

I live nowhere you've ever been or will ever go, I can say that with certainty. Makes me wish I did live in a big city with you homeboys and girls around though. Sucks sitting here alone on a night like this. I LOVE ALL A YOUSE GUYS (in a not-creepy way).
