has anyone sent an update letter? I was looking for some NT advice

I'm in my SMP and doing well, and I am doing some really cool spinal cord research but I was thinking I didn't want to send until my grades post for the semester in december so i can send a transcript along as well. BUT i am also worried about getting rejected before even getting the chance to do so

thoughts?
 
Depends on the school!
 
Tufts and BU have really easy portals to upload an update, so I would go for it.

Write out something less than a page that updates your work and send it in. What is holding you back?

Another week about to kick off, guys. I know some folks are heading to interviews, some waiting to hear back post-interview, some hanging in there for IIs...still all here in this together.

Hi NonTrads...to those applicants who have been accepted. Congratulations! I am so beyond excited for you all. I am sure you are all relieved to be committing to the accepted schools for sure 🙂

To those applicants still waiting for interviews, invites and wait listed...keep your chin up. I have faith in you (us) that we will hear some good news soon. Last week I was all jitters; October 15 came and went without a peep. I have been praying and dreaming and hoping for some news, que sera sera. I love you all. And I hope our paths cross someday soon as colleagues and professionals.

Got an II at VCU! But probably not going to go...can't really imagine going there over Case. Plus I don't have the money for another transcontinental trip...
 
VCU told us at interview that a looooot of the early spots were for IS applicants (since they do favor IS). Now there should be a lot more OOS slots popping up, so OOS'ers don't worry too much quite yet.

You're okay!
the silver lining to this is that with the wait list, you can state your case to get off of it and potentially turn it in to an admission!

That sucks, dude. But you did get those early interviews. The cycle is super young. I predict you'll be alright. 🙂
 
My point was that you SHOULD mean to brag! 😉

I went to Case undergrad (many, many years ago) and did not have that great of an experience with the school. I'm still in denial w.r.t. returning to Cleveland.
However, from what I've heard from current undergrads and about the medical school, it is getting more difficult to stay in denial.

Came home to find a decapitated pigeon left lovingly by my bed. Apparently my cat is proud of me! ^_^

Been a lurker for many years on SDN...I learned a lot of valuable information here and I decided to come out of hiding-
Nontraditional coming from a performing arts background (BFA/BA in undergrad)
Lizzy M 67-69
Applied to 32 MD schools (I'm a resident of a state with no state schools so I had to apply a lot of places)
Attended 1 interview, 3 more interviews scheduled
First acceptance yesterday!:soexcited:

My sister reported it was snowing on the island this week; I'm researching in a place that expects snow by Oct 15~ and we're sitting at average temps of 60-75oF :O
I don't mind the snow/cold as long as it doesn't delay the subway or trains (my only mode of transport when I'm home)
 
why does each rejection hurt more than the last? is it because i have no interviews, and i could potentially be another 1-2 years further from my dreams. WHYYYYYY?

Lots of people last year didn't get their first IIs until November or December. Hang in there!

I'm so sad, I didn't even get a chance to include the grade progress with my SMP that I'm going to be able to show at the end of the semester

Meanwhile, I did get 1/23/16 MCAT date. I'm so far behind ya'll. 🙁
