Hi Sunnyville! I remember you from the Phase II thread last year, of which I was also a participant/lurker. 🙂 The interviews I have had so far were very informal (with the exception of a case presentation I was asked to give). One-on-one interviews consisted of learning more about the fellowship and discussing career goals, what I'm doing on internship, what I want out of fellowship, etc. I have some APPA CAS interviews coming up, which I suspect from the email invites will feel more like internship interviews (e.g., multiple people interviewing on the same day, standardized questions for everyone).

Pretty much. But (my sense is) the responses are expected to be more fleshed out and focused than last year. You're also probably more like to be asked about specific clinical experiences/rotations from internship and to elaborate on them so they can see what relevant skills you'll be bringing- try to work out those connections ahead of time. Otherwise, #1 and 2 questions are goals for fellowship and why us... strangely familiar!

Hey psyched2graduate! I recognize your name as well. 😉 The Phase II thread was so supportive last year. It helped me through that internship process a lot! Thanks for advice. I just had my 1st interview and it was more informal than I expected. I was prepared to present several cases. LOL 👍

I got an interview from them on 1/13 for the Outpatient Mental Health/PTSD and Outpatient Mental Health (Wyoming) positions. A friend got an interview on 1/14 for the Behavioral Medicine position. I'm not sure if they've sent out interview offers for all of the positions.

Does anyone know what the interview is like at Cleveland VA for the SMI tracks? So far, I know there will be an interview panel of three psychologists and it "involves performance based questions and typically takes approximately 40 minutes." Thanks!
