Anybody can share interview experience? I am going to appear in first one at the end of this week and I have no clue what questions are asked. Do they ask clinical questions or just like residency where hardly I encountered a clinical question?
Thanks!!I've been on two and no real clinical questions have been asked. I've mostly been asked why I chose heme/onc, what my career goals are, etc. I've also been asked about things from my application, such as medical mission work or my research. They have mostly been really laid back. Hope this helps !
Hopes/dreams/plans. They didn't ask anything clinical, even after I said I'd make the program chair my biatch at reading smears.Anybody can share interview experience? Is this a message from the future? How is Florida right now after Hurricane? Are you guys going to interview to Florida these days?
Florida is fine right now, but Irma is heading up the coast last time I peeped the radar, late weekend into Monday it will be hitting the "sunshine" state. Luckily, I will be anywhere but the coast over the next week, but I imagine if you had Miami, Tampa or Orlando IVs scheduled in the next few days they've probably already messaged about rescheduling? How is Florida right now after Hurricane? Are you guys going to interview to Florida these days?
I have an interview on Friday in Florida and the program is not looking into cancellation at this time.do you guys think Friday is safe to fly back? Also what do they typically expect and ask during interviews?
So, finally, the Florida program told me that they will reschedule my interview date because of hurricane. I am in trouble now. I already bought flight ticket and hotel and also I have another interview in Minnesota on Monday. I planned to fly from Florida to Minnesota and bought flight ticket already. I called Delta airline and the waiting time to get customer representative is 3 hours. What should I do ? I spent around 1000 dollars for this Florida. If the airline cannot refund my money, what can I do?
Thank you. It was UF and rescheduled nowIf you don't mind me asking what city? And getting there is fine, but if you're in the "wrong" city and you're trying to catch another back to back interview or make it back for wards duty, you could get delayed! Also see posts from a few days back theres a good back and forth of posts discussing interview topics experienced thus far. But from my one interview I've been on so far (4 faculty), 80% of it is "what questions do you have" or "what do you want to know about..."
See...this is the beautiful thing about applying to fellowships compared to residency. No matter what happens this interview/match season for you, next year, you will have a job working as a physician making a decent amount of money. So, if someone's only gotten courtesy interviews, and not so much as a rejection, at what point should they apply to Burger King as a plan B? Asking for a friend....
