although remember that a large number are current med students, does anyone know if any large acceptance waves have/will go out? Or do they just do small amounts at a time? I know there is usually a large waitlist wave at the end of march but what about acceptances?

I'm going to second look. They haven't sent out any details but I doubt they'll cover hotel for anyone except maybe MSTP students. I imagine we'll be able to stay in Olin for free?

I asked the current class prez and she said they're putting us up in a hotel

I’ve been really regretting not applying to MSTP... any chance they’d take an update letter with a formal intention to go and do MSTP...

Anyone know when all decisions are expected? I just want closure.

I feel this on so many levels. :boom:

Based on previous years, I'd expect one, maybe two, more round(s) of accepts to go out this month. Possibly today/tomorrow or in one week. If we're lucky, mass waitlist/rejects will be out by the end of the month; however, last year it looks like they used April 15 as the official final decision day. I interviewed in January and recall them saying that they are slower than other schools, to bear with them, and that most of us would hear back in March.

You can always transfer! We had students transfer last couple of years.

If we interviewed early in the cycle (late October) and still have not heard anything, does that mean we are most likely waitlisted or rejected?

from last year's thread an the year before I saw a couple people who interviewed early in october and november and were admitted in april

From my understanding, I think they update rank after interview and continue to call people throughout the year. While majority of acceptances may have already been given out, the majority of class is probably filled in March/April/May. This is because many people will probably withdraw in March/April (because of all the non-rolling acceptances from other schools). Good luck to everyone on this thread!

I was under the assumption that the majority of A's go out this month?

I'm using the word majority lightly (~220 out of 390) judging from Facebook group. While this may be true, it could mean that only a small portion of those people actually matriculate to WashU...

Thank you for the response. Do they give spots off the waitlist on a rolling basis as spots open or do they wait until May 1 where everyone can only hold one acceptance?

Question - has anyone tried to get aid for traveling to SLW? I'd love to go and get a better idea of what the school's like, but I can't afford to put another $400 on my credit card statement 🙁

May be helpful to email/call the admissions about this. You have nothing to lose!

Kind of anticipating a waitlist because I interviewed ages ago and haven't heard anything since. Does anybody have an idea of how many people are put on WL & accepted from it?

yea are they even accepting kids anymore? Nothing last week nothing this week?

If it's like last year, some calls will go out tonight/tomorrow and that'll be it before the waitlist/reject floodgates open at the end of the month/early April.

Can any current students answer this...do we typically get need based aid info before second look weekend?

I think so. When I signed up for second look it asked if I wanted to meet with a financial counselor. I'm assuming that's to speak about my award.

That was the same reason i figured it was yes

Any current students also know how many apartment options are toured at second look? Trying to figure out if it's worth it to stay through Sunday...

has anyone from the early-/mid-february interviews heard back? 🙁

I think theyre done accepting

I think you're right (unless they're accepting people tomorrow). Last year, the final direct acceptances came out around this time, followed by mass waitlisting April 8. Waitlist movement started early May and continued through mid-June.

Maybe I'm to optimistic, but I'm thinking one more round of acceptances this week. It looks like, based on this thread, that the last acceptances went out around Feb 25/26. I'm not sure when the last interview day was but would that be enough time to review everyone if that were the last acceptance day? Also, if that was meant to be the last acceptance day, why not do the mass waitlist already (i.e. why wait a month)? But I guess there are other factors too. Maybe not as many people gave up spots after hearing from the other top schools earlier this month as they expected.

D*mn. I'm overthinking all this, aren't I?

I think there's probably a 50-50 chance of one more acceptance wave before the big WL in April.

Haven't heard anything back either . . . they told us in February we should hear back by the end of March. I can't imagine they would interview people in February when their class is already finalized and they don't have spots left. In fact, my interviewer said they don't believe in interviewing just to fill the waitlist so I still think there should be acceptances coming in through the end of the month....

In all honesty, I think that WashU tends to be a bit slower with apps, so be patient! I interviewed in mid-October, and heard back in early January. When I got the call from the Dean, she mentioned that the Committee had just reviewed my application, and I had been accepted. So I think they just take their time.

Has anyone received a financial aid package yet? Or does anyone know when we will receive one? Thanks
