I am right there with you! It's messing with my brain! One of the ones I'm waiting on is a top choice too, so I'm having trouble focusing on other stuff!

Through the grapevine, someone I know was offered an invitation today at CHA adult track. I don’t have the deets, but I was told it came via a mass email.

In the past weeks, nothing's made me happier than seeing how stoked and excited someone gets when they recieve an invite. I really enjoy and look forward to reading excited and happy posts like this. [emoji7]

Still waiting to hear from: Hutchings, Florida State hospital, DSH Napa, Calif. Psych consortium- San Quentin, and LA county jail ( anticipated rejection I think they sent out invites already). Has anyone heard from any of those places?

I just got a rejection from The Help Group. 🙁 They were my top choice too. They said my skills and training were not a match for them even though throughout my entire career so far my skills and training have focused on autism and they are an autism-focused clinic. Not sure how that makes me a bad fit.
Thank you for saying that-I am happy to share my joy. 🙂 I think it's so great how this thread has made space for people to share both their crazy joy and their tough disappointments. This is quite a special group of people!

LOL I don't mean to be negative / wish bad luck on people, it's just a fact that many of us have "probably no" sites that we haven't heard from yet with deadlines tomorrow

Also got the Florida DOC rejection. It hurt. A cohort-mate got San Quentin but I haven't heard, and we both got LA County about a week apart (so maybe they're still rolling some out?)

10 rejections

It's hard not to be discouraged by this process when I look at some of my classmates that are pulling in 4-7 interviews. These are also classmates that I've compared my application materials with and I've seen that while their materials are strong, mine seem stronger.

How do you assess which ones "are stronger?" I don't think I've ever read anyone else's internship materials and thought mine were stronger, but different. Did you ask the TDs to give you more feedback about rejections?

Does anyone have any advice on corresponding with sites that "assign" you an interview date? Is it acceptable to ask if there are other options? There is one week in January that I have interviews everyday of the week (MTWTF) and I am wondering if this is possible....... any input would be super helpful!
Two of my invites were assigned and I replied politely, stating that I already scheduled another invite that date. No problem at all, they just replied with alternatives.
One of my sites "assigned" me a date, but I knew that they had other dates advertised. I asked if they would be willing to reschedule me to a different date, and then found out someone from the #forumfam needed to swap dates too! She emailed the site and also requested the swap with me and it all worked out! Hope it works out for you, too! 🙂
Thank you so much for this! Were they receptive when you asked? I don't want to come across as inflexible (although, assigning someone a date is kind of inflexible isn't it? Hahahahah)
I was advised that if you're assigned an interview date that you already have, it's ok to send an (overly polite!) email about how you noticed that they listed in their brochure or whatever that they were holding interviews on other dates, and would it be at all possible to interview on one of those other dates because you already have a commitment on the day they assigned.
Alternatively, if this is a site you're super pumped about, you can take the interview date they assigned you, and cancel or ask to change the one you already have...this runs the risk of sending the message that you are not that committed to that site though.
Yes, she was very nice about it. To be honest, it probably made it easier that there was a person for me to switch with, although I'm sure they also realize that dates get filled really quickly, especially given some sites sent out invites literally a month ago. I would just express your excitement and gratitude at the invite, and then let them know you already have an interview scheduled for the day they assigned, and ask if if there is any way to switch to a different day. If they had their dates posted ahead of time, you can request which one you want. I also had another site send an email to all the applicants scheduled to interview on a particular day asking if any of them could switch dates. In my experience, it seems that sites realize the hassle of scheduling during this time and are generally pretty flexible. Good luck, friend! 🙂
edited to add: You may also consider posting this site here and seeing if anyone in the #forumfam has the same invite and needs to switch dates. That's what I did and it worked out perfectly for me and the other person.

I'm right there with you. 3 invites. Still waiting on 5 with at least 2 anticipated rejections and 13 rejections. I got early rejections and added a bunch of places with no apparent benefit. It' really hard. Stay strong
