Did anyone end up getting a rejection from University of Virginia CC today? I saw that some invites went out, but I never heard either way and today was their notification date. Just wanted to update my rejection list officially...

Thank you!!! So tell it real...how cold is it up there? I've never been so it'll be neat to visit and possibly live there for at least a year, but I don't know if I can fully prepare myself for just how frigid it'll be...

Where I'm from I've heard it jokingly called the Seattle of the north with its rain and dreariness - so that's down by the Juneau area. I'm not familiar with the weather of some of the consortium sites...but the interior (Fairbanks) is like the geographic embodiment of bipolar I. The winters are a dry cold that's perfect student-ing weather and it looks like a postcard all the time when you look out the window from your warm office. The summers are short, manic sprints of dry heat, usually 55-70 degrees but up to 90. It's sunny/clear most of the time in the interior so that's a plus. Who knows about the future but it is on average below freezing for a few months of the year in the interior, down to -40 and -50 below 0. I was told that the BQ list from the usajobs app goes out to the internship programs on dec 5 (tomorrow!!) That means that sites can begin sending those invites! Not sure if they all do it the same day but in theory they can... ugh I don’t know if this helps or not! Rooting for you!

Layer it up, don't be shy about rocking the massive winter boots, and cover your face on the colder days and you'll be fine. 🙂 I'm scared to say it cuz don't want to jinx anything but it's been an incredibly warm winter, so it likely will be more friendly for your visit than the frigidly cold mental image that you've got of it.

Ahhh that feels scarier than not knowing. hahaha Is it possible to be BQ and be denied an interview? Do you know?

I'm thinking we'll hear back by the end of the week. The USA Jobs app still hasn't been reviewed and we can't get interviews until then.

I know, I think in the email from FCC Allenwood, they said within the first few weeks of December. Hopefully soon.

I can ask but I’m fairly certain that if you were invited to complete the usajobs app that means a site wants you. So if you’re deemed BQ it seems highly unlikely that you wouldn’t be offered an interview.

Thanks! You don't have to ask. Either way, I'll know soon enough it seems. I only got the one invite from Ft. Worth and they notify on by Friday!

I have not heard for UPenn either. I think they are sending out invites in mid-December since their interviews typically don’t occur until January (if I remember correctly).


Has anyone heard from the following counseling centers:
Notre Dame
North Carolina - Chapel Hill

According to the APPIC directory, UPenn has interview dates in December and January, but their notification deadline isn't until 12/15.

On page one of this thread, it was posted that people heard from NC Chapel Hill re: interviews.

I think the UNC Chapel Hill indicated on the first page is for a hospital rotation and not the counseling center. I’ve heard from people in my program who have interviewed at UPenn and they said that (typically) it’s closer to mid-December that we’ll hear back.

I posted this awhile back, but just in case there’s any new people who joined the #forumfam or who are actively lurking - is there anyone who is interviewing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center on either 1/25 or 1/26 who would be willing/able to switch dates with me? I am scheduled for 1/11. If so, please let me know!

catching up on the forum over here and had a series of absolute rapid fire APPIC-induced thoughts and panic.

Closet Swiftie over here (DONT JUDGE A MAN BY HIS LOVE FOR POP MUSIC, OK?) who has the Reputation CD on repeat and has been working on boosts for the best standings to get Taylor Swift Reputation tour tickets through the ticketmaster presale program. All the boosts ended last week and standings got released Saturday... finding out i had access on the first day made me not even care about the 3 rejections in a row that i had received last week!

until i remembered I DONT EVEN KNOW IF ILL GET TO GO because the internship gods have not informed me of even a regional area i might be in next year! so thank you, insane internship interview process for taking the joy away from even taylor swift!! damn you, match program :annoyed:😏:punch:

Same here!! Although, I’m a lowly day 2 swiftie. Apparently the 2 albums I bought and the hundreds of watched videos count for so little. However, nothing will stop me from seeing her in ATL. I have seen almost every tour, I will find a way to make this one regardless of the unknown future internship location!
