I hear you-- the pull of the rural west is SO strong! Hopefully you can have connecting flights through less snowy/stormy places and make it safe and prompt. 🙂

I fully recognize that you are listing today's date, 12/4, but for a split second when I read this and it said 124, I imagined that it was a count of days. Like, "Day 124 of internship madness. Blinds are tightly shut in the house and office. The only signs of life are a dripping coffee maker and the single mug on the table. Slowly running out of coffee and sanity."

I'm currently at UM in Missoula-- applying for internships now...y'all will be FINE!!! It's beautiful country and a really unique, wonderful treatment setting. It's rural but with so much community, resilience and spirit.

All the boosts ended last week and standings got released Saturday... finding out i had access on the first day made me not even care about the 3 rejections in a row that i had received last week!

Guys. I need helps. I'm trying to start booking my flights/hotels, but haven't heard from all my sites. IF (big if) I got an interview at Lurie, it would likely be on 1/5, so then I can't really book a hotel in Gainesville for that night. Lurie already sent out personal email invites awhile ago. I'm kinda, sort, definitely expecting a rejection, but their notification date is 12/15. Thoughts? What should I do? Book? Wait? Go eat more chocolate covered almonds?

I know you posted this awhile ago, buttttt this most def answers my question that yes, I'm waiting for an ultimate rejection from Lurie. Especially if they only offered you one date. YOU GO GIRL! Kill that Lurie interview for all of us! Also, now I can probs go ahead and book my Gainesville hotel.

I was just about to tell you about the dates! They did let me and another person (from the #forumfam!) switch dates (January 4 for 11), so they did have alternate dates. I say that eating chocolate covered almonds and booking travel for a place that doesn't require long johns (which my local Target literally does not carry, y'all, the struggle) sounds like a SOLID plan!

And thanks! You're gonna rock Gainesville too!!
 
Tonight I am happy to report that I was "anti-Denvered." I got a phone call from a number I did not recognize at around 7:30 pm; the caller ID read, "Kansas," which made my heart sink because I applied to no programs in Kansas or even any state bordering Kansas. I stopped myself from going off the deep end with the "well, maybe the TD at X Site has a cell phone number from way back when they did their undergrad at Wichita State...AND they extend invites personally after 7pm because they're both super busy and super enthusiastic to reach out personally" line of thinking and had steeled myself for a telemarketer, so I nearly dropped the phone when it indeed was a TD with an interview invite!

Sending positive vibes into the universe that getting your respective versions of #Kansased is in the immediate future for each of you, forum fam!

That's awesome! I tried doing that for Mississippi, but no luck finding anyone to switch with yet. Hahahaha, my local Target def doesn't carry those either. It's a "chilly" 70 degrees here right now 😉.

From a local, be flexible with travel dates/times if possible (i.e., have a full day before devoted to travel just in case). The sites will be flexible with weather issues, I'm sure! Roads close often in Wyoming, so become familiar with the WyoDOT application in advance. PM me if you want more info.

Woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back asleep so I watched the visual masterpiece that is Lemonade by our Lord and Savior, Beyoncé, and y’all. It was such an emotional roller coaster that was rivaled only by the first time I watched it. I laughed, I put my middle fingers up, I ugly cried (Sandcastles and All Night Long, you slay me), I twitched around my living room in a way that doesn’t even approximate dancing, and I rejoiced. It was so cathartic and I feel refreshed and armored up to slay these final days leading to December 15. Wishing you all the refreshment that only #lemonade can bring today!!!

I'm so glad you posted this because I am waiting on them. I was feeling concerned when others got invited yesterday, but it looks like they are still sending out invites. Looks like there's still hope!
 
Anyone else waiting on Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center? Invites went out this date last year.

Also, all of this Taylor Swift talk basically forced me to get her entire album on Spotify and begin the inevitable transition from listening ironically to listening with sincere pleasure. So, thank you?

Has anybody received a rejection from University of Maine CC or University of Illinois - Chicago CC? I know some invites went out yesterday but I haven't heard either way.

Me as my roommate has played her album on repeat since it came out. Damnit.

Honestly though I much prefer 1989. But I guess this one is growing on me.

I got this rejection this morning as well...8 rejections for me. Anyone else possibly mentally preparing for phase 2?
