Hi everyone, I thought I should make this known to everyone applying to VA's. I received an email from a VA today regarding my application which stated that I needed the assessment report that I submitted as a supplemental to be physically signed by my supervisor. I will say that it did specify in this brochure that the report needed to be signed, but I thought the electronic signature would be enough. I didn't notice this in any of the other VA brochures that I applied to, but figured I'd share it in case others have similar emails.

^Wow is that common to need signatures present in these submissions? I haven't seen it in the brochures...

Ack I've just realized my error!! It was U of Wisconsin Madison Department of Psychiatry, not Minnesota. I have them alphabetical by location and filled the info into the wrong line. Still waiting to hear from Minnesota 🙂

Wisconsin Madison's interview dates are 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, 1/5, and 1/8. So sorry for stressing people out!!

You truly do not know how much relief this brings me. I legit had a #moment the other night when I saw this and reverted to full on middle-school me where I'm expecting a boy to call me but then he didn't call me and WHY DIDN'T HE CALL ME TOO and it was ugly.

So congrats on your interview in Wisconsin!!! And thank God we're all still waiting on Minnesota hahah
 
So I don't want to stress anyone out but I made a spreadsheet with last years/year before interview dates and it seems that Univ Chicago may be sending out interviews Friday or Monday. Do you guys think that rolling around in all of the clothes on my floor while simultaneously shoving cookies into my mouth will please the interview gods? :highfive:

I MADE A SPREADSHEET OF ALL OF MY SITES' PAST 2 YEARS NOTIFICATION DATES TOO.

I must say, I'm feeling really spiritually connected to everyone on these boards, what with the Mindy gifs, the stress eating, the laying on the floor, and the neuroticism... y'all the real MVPs.😍

Can I just say, I've followed SDN for over 7 years (master's/Ph.D apps and such) but never felt the need to register and join in until now. Ya'll are just too funny. So nice I can look forward to a giggle when I check the thread... and that I'm not the only one losing it over here.

I agree with slaney. I think I would go even crazier if I couldn't laugh during this process. :laugh:

This varies by site. Just do your best to follow each site's instructions.

Anybody else realizing how soon some of the sites are doing in-person interviews and have a tiny voice in your soul hoping that particular site you applied to that does super early interviews doesn't give you one? No? Just me? Shall I do a two-chair exercise or something and try to figure out my feels? No? Just more cookie dough? Cool.

Kind of. But I know earlier the better in some ways too! Lol a two chair exercise. I like the mindfulness exercises...

Same! I can't find the job vacancy posting they reference either... going to wait a day to see if it shows up before I contact anyone.
 
So was the Univ of Minnesota post a mistake or no?? I am loving this thread--very entertaining, haha! I haven't been feeling too anxious about internship (mostly bc I have a million other things on my plate right now to occupy my time/mind), but I did have my first internship nightmare(s) last night. Lots of hunger games themes... pretty scary! Haha. I hope to meet some of you in real life over the next few months!

I created an account just to thank you for setting this up! I really appreciate the humor as well, so thanks y'all.
 
In case y'all need some extra distraction, this blog got me through my internship-waiting stresses a couple of years ago- at least for a few hours. From now-graduated psychologists, so the blog isn't being updated anymore, but scroll back to some of the ones about going through the internship application process 🙂 Enjoy! Guys. I'm applying to internship for the second time after getting pregnant in the middle of my interview circuit last year and changing plans...I gotta chime in just to say, following this thread eases the pain of having to apply again. Thanks for entertaining me 🙂

I usually don't pay much attention to my dreams, but I've actually been writing down the ones about internship because they've been so bizarre. The worst one was getting an interview at my top site and then MAKING OUT with the training director once I got there. I woke up, horrified, and legit fell out of my bed in my hurry to get up and question all of my life choices. I'm still horrified every time I think about it, although all my friends think it's hilarious. This process does some weird things to us...😵😱:wideyed:

Y'ALL.

So I went to TJ Maxx earlier (because I make excellent decisions about how to use my time), and I'm standing in the shoe section inspecting these ankle booties and my phone rings. It's an unfamiliar number from a city that had a site I applied to and I straight up dropped the pair of booties I was holding and turned to the lady next to me and shouted "OH MY GOD, IT'S HAPPENING!!" and while she's standing there looking bewildered AF and asking "what's happening?!" over and over, I answer my phone.....and it's someone asking if I would like to donate to the conservation of BEES. BEES, Y'ALL. BEEEEEEES.

Left the store with $37 worth of Christmas candles. That's where we're at today.

HAHAHA. This story is amazing but I understand your disappointment. I had a similar experience today. I thought an internship site was calling, I answered and the woman asked for me and it ended up being something related to my lab. My boyfriend said It was the saddest I've ever looked. We now call being disappointed being "Denvered". So here's to being "Denvered" and to Bees. Always the bees. +pity+:help:

I think we've found how to identify ourselves at interviews. At the informational breakfasts, we'll just stand in line for the muffins and whisper "#WWMD #bees #denvered" and if the other person whispers back "#never forget" we'll know we've found each other.
