We take a lot of our methods classes with each other, have the same practicum sites, and participate in very similar research but in the past I know some sites will only accept students from clinical and not counseling, and vice versa. We are like that with the clinical PhD program. I think the clinical folks get an upper hand though. Counseling students in my program are always fighting for experiences whereas clinical folks are required to do a major practicum and a minor. We sometimes times never access those specific sites. I think there's bias across both fields though. Clinical students are viewed as difficult and not very holistic, specifically incorporating diversity factors. But that might be site specific who knows. I know I looked for guidance with a clinical faculty member and straight up said I was in the wrong program and questioned why I was in a counseling program if I was going health psych. I even heard by word of mouth that clinical folks questioned counseling folks that "we aren't looking for experiences outside the UCC". I was like WHAT!! I relocated across the country for experiences that I want for training. Sacrificed. Time with my children, money, stress, etc. to find health related experiences.

1. Get a tjx card so you get like 5% back If you’re going to keep going to tjmaxx.

2. I hope you applied to sites in Silicon Valley and Seattle to increase your chances of finding a hot (software) engineer husband. Or like around MIT, Cal Tech?? Any school with great engineer programs??

Did anyone get a confirmation of your interview date from the Ann Arbor VA yet? I responded to the email within about five minutes today but haven’t heard back yet.

I also got a rejection here but not a huge surprise since my program doesn't have a good track record here

I've been on the hunt for tops to wear under my suit. I want short sleeved blouses instead of sleeveless so I have a layer in between my blazer in case I get the nervous sweats. Ordered 2 from Banana Republic Factory Store and now I'm just making the rounds on more expensive/non-outlet sites and putting a bunch of really expensive stuff in my online cart and pretending I have lots of money while I sip some wine and watch football. Oh, and eat more pecan pie. It's pretty magical. :happy:

Congrats to those getting invites!! But like, help me understand this: they wrote the email 2 days ago, but then forgot to send it? So then someone was like "oh crap, forgot to send those invites/rejections...better go ahead and do it on Thanksgiving evening. Yeah, that's a solid plan." I mean, y'all.
 
So with the notification nonsense cropping up again and having to watch Ole Miss win the Egg Bowl and hear "hotty toddy" yelled on TV....I find that my angst has returned. It was nice while it lasted, I suppose...🙁
 
UGH do we know if today is a day we are supposed to be getting emails? Waiting to hear back from Phoenix Children's since their interview day is so early....

Or more likely they sent the email on the 21st but there were technical issues (either with their machine or with their IT department) which resulted in it being delayed in sending.
