As a California resident with no ties to the state, should I even bother with this school?

Anyone else get the secondary way before your AMCAS was verified? I just got verified but found the secondary in my spam folder from June 29. Wasn't even looking for it obviously because I've never heard of the receiving a secondary before verification.

I was thinking the same thing lol. Only 1100 OOS applied for 100 ish interview slots..doesn't seem extremely unreasonable but I assume most of those OOS are for people with ties to the ND

When I originally asked this question I called admissions and told them my situation and they basically told me don't bother applying lol

"Hey save your $ and take a loved one out to dinner instead"- admissions 🙂

If you don't have ties to the state, aren't from Minnesota (especially NW Minnesota), Montana/Wyoming (WICHE), and/or are not Native American with documented membership of a tribe, then it is not worth applying as an OOS

That's awesome! When did you submit? And are you from ND? I'm a MT applicant hoping for a little WICHE love.
Thank you! Submitted my secondary 9/9. Originally from MN but I'm an ND resident now. Lizzy M score 69 if that makes a difference for you. Re-applicant as well.

For those who were asking, I received an II on September 12th (haven't checked this thread in a while or I would have let y'all know sooner!). There were dates available from the beginning of November through the end of December.

I've got my interview set up for November 30th at 5, anyone else have theirs that day as well?

Accepted today.

Interviewed Nov 17th, 2018
In-state, 510/3.78
Non-Trad

There is some verbiage on the website and in the materials you receive at your interview about acceptance notification. Some will be notified "shortly after their interview," and others will be notified at some point after interviews conclude - round about middle of January 2019.

The gouge I got from the med-students during my interview was that they determine who to notify early based on a 300 point rubric. Points are awarded for GPA/MCAT/Residency status/Interview. I do not know what the standards are for being awarded points or the threshold for being notified early...or if this is even true.

What is for certain is early acceptances happen, and that most acceptances will not go out until January.

Good luck to all those yet to interview, and keep the faith for those who already have.

Minnesota resident who received an II about a week ago. GPA 3.7, MCAT 508. Unsure if I will be attending the interview, as I have already been accepted to one of the MN state schools.

My buddy was also accepted within about 3 weeks of interviewing here.

Based on my experience last year I was definitely not expecting to hear anything until late Jan/early Feb.

I got my acceptance on Friday (12/7)!!!
Interviewed Nov. 16th
Non-trad
In-state
I was also not expecting to hear anything until January, so it was an awesome surprise in my inbox on Friday!

Best of luck to all who are still to interview and waiting to hear back!

Cancelled my interview for 1/18. Hope it goes to one of you waiting!

Just found out I’m #22 on the ND waitlist. Hope everyone else gets better news!

ND waitlist #45 with an MCAT score above their 90th percentile....uh what?

Applicants with >517 (94th percentile?) still only have an 88% acceptance rate. There's more to your application than an MCAT score. Just an FYI.

I know that the acceptances have gone out differently this year, but it was a year ago today that they sent out a vast majority of the acceptances! Good luck!

Do you know how quickly they usually turn around decisions after interview? They didn’t tell us when to expect news when I was there.

WL just now. Interviewed 1/19. OOS WL.

Anyone aware of an accepted student Facebook group or slack channel or something along those lines?

I have not seen anything like that. I'm guessing they will start popping up after the admitted student days the first two weeks of April.

Found a Facebook page has been started: ‘UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences Class of 2023’
When searching, it helped to look under groups as quite a few of the previous classes pages showed up.

Could you please post the link if you have it? I’m having a hard time finding it.

I was looking a little more and it appears there is actually another group on facebook, called ‘UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ MD Class of 2023’

I’m not sure if they are both legitimate or not, was waiting to join one, but wondering if anyone knows anything about either of these groups?

Here's the link for the MD class of 2023! It's small right now, but the admin will add you really quickly.

Any information on how far, on average, the WICHE waitlist moves? I'm trying to figure out what to expect and I'm pretty low ranked at the moment but I'm unsure if it is going to move anymore this year.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
