Got my complete email yesterday after submitting on 7/17. They marked me complete like 20 min after I called to inquire about my status so would recommend doing the same for anyone who has not received that email and has been waiting for more than 8 weeks (the max time they say it should take)
same thing happened to me yesterday.

I live by my spreadsheet. It helped me stay organize during secondaries, it has all of my portal links/info, and it lets me know when I submitted/was complete. I would not be able to stay on top of everything without it.
That's awesome, much respect because I could not do that. I simply star the emails they send me 😆

they told me they couldn't tell me status and didn't even ask for my info....
They said they couldn’t tell me my status but she said she could confirm for me if they had my application. I gave her my name, she confirmed they had received it and said nothing else. 20 minutes later I was miraculously complete haha

They told me when I spoke to them earlier in the cycle that it's chronological. It could've been a coincidence?

edit: when you get a complete email (maybe they just wanted to get off the phone)

also II this morning, OOS complete 7/16
dates available for November and 1st week of December

+2
They also said that the Jewish holidays would be slowing them down because the office would be closed.

Yeah for those who are not Jewish/don't know about Jewish holidays there are a ton in the next month (Rosh Hashanah (2 days), Yom Kippur, Sukkot ( 2 days), Shimini Azeret, Simchat Torah) and all Einstein offices are closed on those days (no class for pre clinical students also yay) so expect things might be quiet during October

If I submitted 7/11 and the portal says "finished" but I never received a completed email should I call? Is this their way of giving a soft R or showing they aren't interested?

I submitted middle of July and didn’t get a complete email until the beginning of September

Has anyone stayed in a hostel for their interview here?? I'm not too savy of a traveler and would like to know your experience! I might try to stay the whole weekend and just explore NYC if I can find hostel and flight that's cheap 🙂

I think you can request a student host if you email the admissions office! I’m not sure if they advertise it. But it’s worth a try!

should I be worried if my app still isn't marked as complete and I submitted 7/17?
mine isn't either, they aren't going in order. They told me on phone that the complete seems to be that they are actively reviewing your app or something...idk but they wouldn't check my app haha.

oooh that makes sense. Thanks for calling - they're a reach for me so that's probs why

glad to know I'm not the only 7/17 still incomplete. when I called they told me that they were going in order and that they would reach 7/17 soon lol

They're saving the best for last. Also, I was complete over a month after you (still radio silence). Any tips for staying sane? I'm already starting to lose hope.
Pretend the school doesn't exist until they send you something? The only difference between this and any other school is that I haven't received anything that acknowledges my app, which would usually concern me. But seeing that other people are in the same position, this is basically the same as a post-complete, pre-II/R wait.

Are people saying complete date as in the date they got complete email?

Man, my complete email is going be a Christmas present at this rate.
I don't understand why they're taking SO LONG to just tell us whether they have everything. I feel like most other schools are automatic.

I have noticed that this is a problem at all the schools I applied to that used the amcas secondary portal. That portal system SUCKS, lol. I haven't gotten complete emails yet from any of the three schools I used the portal with. Plus one of them had a glitch that led me to not filling out my prereqs until multiple weeks later.

Called today and the lady behind the phone was legit mad at me after inquiring about my status.

That's super unusual, our admissions secretaries are literally the sweetest women I have ever met (they have free coffee and snacks in their office year round for current students to come get whenever so we all love them).

Tbh though I feel like this year people seem extra neurotic about the complete email thing and yes they take a long time (think it was like 2+ months for me but this was years ago) but I think its because they actually manually do it as they review apps, it's not an automated system like some other schools use. If you submitted everything, you'll be fine. I know y'all are stressed (I remember what it was like, holy hell was I stressed) but they will get to your app in time.

Also like I said earlier many of our staff are Jewish and either way they all take all the holidays off (offices are closed) so things have been slow here lately, its just a thing that happens this time of year.

So when i called two weeks ago, the lady (who was super nice) said to call when 8 weeks have passed. So that's what I did, and was berated. All she said was "our website explicitly says not to call about application updates." Wouldn't even let me get a word in. Who knows though; she may just be stressed cuz everyone is calling, along with them being behind because of jewish holidays like you said.

Same thing happened to me. Asked if I could check if all of my materials (letters, etc) were received, and got told angrily that "we don't give application status updates, we have THOUSANDS of applications!" (as if every other school that manages to get you this information doesn't have thousands).
Hearing these stories kind of makes you wonder how they treat students who come to administration with issues down the road. Am I going to be a burden, or are we going to be able to work something out?

LOL at the bold part. They should know some schools literally get over 10,000 applications.
Reading these posts, Im kind of okay with the fact that they haven’t sent me the complete email yet🙂

Called this past week, the woman I spoke to seemed low-key annoyed (but not rude) and said they don't do status updates over the phone, I said "ok, just checking because it's been 9 weeks and I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong" "No, nothing's wrong, you'll get an email. We're behind" was generally how it went. So I don't know if it's worth calling them if it's going to annoy them :/

No complete email yet. I don't think they understand that we're not asking for status update, we're literally just wanting to confirm our materials were received, because it would really suck for them to finally get to our app and say "oh no, for some reason we don't have this letter" or something, and then we'd have to scramble, now being 9 weeks behind where we thought we were. I know the chances of that are small, but like everyone's said, most other schools do this automatically. I know Einstein is not technically rolling admissions, but still. Ah well, another bump in the road we (hopefully) won't remember in a year lol

Don't stay at a hotel near the school, it's either too expensive or straight up in the Bronx. Stay in a hotel north like 10-15 minutes outside of the city and drive in to the school in the morning. Doesn't matter which hotel, just look at the ratings on google maps for an idea.

the area near the school isn’t too bad though!

100% disagree with this, the Marriott is super nice (though a little pricey, there is an Einstein discount) and walking distance from campus. Yeah its the Bronx but its a quiet residential neighborhood, not dangerous or anything. If you were to stay outside the city you'd probably have to drive through rougher areas to get there plus traffic in the Bronx is horrendous and there's no way you'd get there in 10-15 min
