2019-2020 Albert Einstein

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry if this has been asked but do you guys think it'd be okay to send an ITA email before receiving a complete e-mail? I submitted 8/16 so it's been over 8 weeks

Does Albert Einstein offer student hosting? 🙂 didn’t see anything about it mentioned on the website or emails...

Would anyone who has already interviewed here be willing to talk about the interview day as a whole (types of questions/style of interview, number of interviews and who they take place with etc.)?

I've looked through a lot of the thread but couldn't seem to find much. Would be very appreciated!!

You have one interview with a faculty/physician. It was pretty relaxed and lasted about 30-40 minutes.

Then everyone reconvenes and some deans speak to you. The rest of the day is tour + lunch with current students.

Did you have to interview off-campus?

I sent my secondary in mid July and have yet to receive a complete email. Is this normal for this school?
I sent my secondary mid July and emailed them a little while ago to check if I was missing documents. They replied letting me know that I was missing a signature on two of my LOR's, which prevented me from being marked as complete. I would recommend emailing them!

When did you email them? I emailed them a week ago and have not heard back.

I submitted everything 7/15 and have not heard. I emailed 10 days ago to ask about complete and have not heard back. I know that email landed in the middle of Jewish holidays, but should I follow up?

Ok so I just called the admission office. I told them that I haven’t seen a completion email yet but I submitted my secondary back in July. I was told that they are reviewing apps right now and will send a complete email when mine is reviewed. They’ll let me know if anything is missing from my app once it’s reviewed. I’m guessing this is one of those cases where complete emails are only sent once your app is closely reviewed?

Are you able to say if it was closed or open file?

Mine was at montfiere (i think) but they emailed me a shuttle pass to use to get back to the main campus
Did you check in at Einstein or directly with your interviewer at Montefiore? Was there anything before the actual interview (presentations etc) - or is it just the interview, lunch, and tour? Thank you!

You check in at admissions first!

Anybody else still waiting for 15 weeks or more for a complete e-mail?? I submitted July 21 and nothing.
Looks like that 6-8 weeks estimate from admissions was a little off...

I’ve been waiting for a complete email since the 17th of July. I sent an email about it almost 2 weeks ago and they haven’t replied either.

I've already gotten fussed at by the admissions office once, I'm sort of scared to ask again.

Edit: although that was over the phone, and I think that's where other people got fussed at too... anybody get an annoyed email response?

Enjoy speaking with the other interviewees on interview day! There's a lot of downtime and there are a lot of cool premeds to converse with.

Other than that, there's not much to worry about since the interview itself is pretty low stress and the admissions office is SO nice

I have two quick questions for any current students or applicants for this school that may be able to help. For reference, I just got an interview and set it for mid-December.

1) Considering when I received this interview invitation as well as when I scheduled it for, is it still early on in the cycle where I can be optimistic that I'm not interviewing for a wait-list spot.

2) Once you interview at the school, does the admissions committee still heavily factor MCAT scores and GPA in their acceptance decisions, or are you more considered based on aspects of your application outside of academics in addition to how the interview itself went?

Thanks in advance!
