Sooo the Google spreadsheet keeps crashing- did anyone end up hearing from Northwestern Feinberg yesterday? (said the broken record lady) What about the Washington D.C. VA? Anything since 12/1?

I don't see anything on the spreadsheet for Northwestern Feinberg and I also haven't heard anything from them if that helps!

No news from the D.C. VA.

As a follow-up, for anyone who HAS heard from the D.C. VA, did you apply to the general track only, or did you specify an interest in a 50/50 neuropsych/general set-up? Thanks!

Northwestern is making calls now!!
AHHHH I hope that means you got an interview invitation and that they aren't calling people to reject them. If so, congratulations!

Also, does your last name happen to fall at the beginning of the alphabet? (How neurotic is this question, I know.)

Thank you, they did call with an interview invite! And I don't consider it neurotic as I would be asking someone the same thing if I was still *patiently* waiting to hear. My last name starts with an 'N' and I submitted the application on October 29th incase they are doing it by when app was received! Fingers crossed for a ring soon for you!

I saw that somebody on the excel sheet wrote that their DCT said that sites can see where each applicant applied
No, and would love to know. I was so hopeful yesterday
Same! I was glued to my phone yesterday and today I set up an alarm clock so I would not miss their call 🙁

I saw on the excel sheet that someone's DCT told them that sites can see where each of the applicants has applied. Does anyone know if it is true? I feel that we should have been told about this explicitly, if it is the case. To me personally, it feels like violation of privacy. Any thoughts?

I don't think anyone can see your sites other than your LOR's. I tried to find out via the APPI website and did not locate any information to indicate this is true -- feels like something they'd really get across if so.

This is not the case as far as I know, unless it's a new feature. We can see where people ultimately match, as long as we rank them.

I am interviewing at multiple VAs and wondering if anyone knows this offhand. Does the VA system have a similar type of interview that is used across sites or should I expect them to potentially be very different?

hello cheese and bacon sending luv and positive vibes !!
To you too, pizza! Another name after my own heart! Great foods to celebrate with when this is all over, and in the meantime, great comfort foods as well. 🍕

I was asked where else I was applying in an interview, which suggests to me that this is false.

VAs do Performance Based Interviewing so every applicant will be asked the same questions and graded on a pre-established rubric. However, specific questions are chosen by each site but you’ll see a lot of overlap.

I have heard about this (PBI) as well. I interviewed at a VA this week and one interviewer felt much more structured but the other was much more conversational. So I think this probably varies a lot by VA and interviewer.

Somewhere in this thread there is a link to the VA interview questions -- I can't remember if its here or in the google sheets but it does exist!

Has anyone else heard from Pace University or Maimonides? Or has any insight into whether they might do waves/rolling invites?

Just here to wish you all lots of luck! This process can be overwhelming but remember how far you’ve come. You may have lots of mixed emotions, but do try to savor just making it to this point in your training - it’s huge!

- a current intern going through postdoc apps somewhat missing internship apps (grass is always greener, right? 🙃)

I had very different interview experiences last year across the VA sites. I would say the only consistent thing I was asked between VAs was “why VA/Veterans?” - but it could be area specific too! There are some general questions available if you Google performance based interview though!

My internship interviews were varied in terms of PBI vs not. Many of mine were conversational and not PBI. For postdoc and jobs, though, they absolutely will be PBI. Still, as has been said above, if you’re prepared for interviews, you’re prepared for PBI.

Anyone know anything about Cleveland Clinic Peds? I saw they sent out emails for those who applied to multiple tracks, but I am curious if anyone has heard for just one specific track?

Thanks for the well wishes! Hope you get a great postdoc!

Were they similar questions or was that highly varied as well?
